Uvod v čiste snovi
Čiste snovi so kot natančno izdelani izdelki iz tovarne - vedno imajo enake lastnosti. Čista snov je sestavljena samo iz ene vrste delcev in ima točno določene lastnosti kot so vrelišče, tališče in gostota.
Voda je odličen primer - vedno zavre pri 100°C, ne glede na to, ali jo vzameš iz pipe ali iz studenca. To se zgodi, ker je voda čista snov z vedno enakimi lastnostmi.
Čiste snovi delimo na elemente in spojine. Element je osnovna čista snov, ki je sestavljena samo iz ene vrste atomov in je ne moremo razgraditi. Spojina pa nastane, ko se atomi različnih elementov kemično povežejo v določenem razmerju.
💡 Pomni: Čista snov = vedno enake lastnosti, ena vrsta delcev
Elementi - gradniki sveta
Elementi so kot osnovne Lego kocke, iz katerih se gradi ves svet okoli nas. Vsak element je sestavljen samo iz ene vrste atomov in ima svoj prostor v periodnem sistemu.
Vsak element ima svoj simbol - okrajšavo, ki se vedno začne z veliko črko. Nekateri imajo logična imena (H za vodik), drugi pa prihajajo iz latinščine .
V vsakdanjem življenju srečuješ elemente povsod: aluminij (Al) v foliji, baker (Cu) v električnih žicah, kisik (O₂) v zraku, ki ga dihaš. Pomembno je razumeti, da kisik v zraku obstaja kot molekula O₂ - torej dva atoma kisika skupaj.
💡 Nasvet: Nauči se simbole prvih 20 elementov - to ti bo pomagalo prepoznavati spojine!
Spojine - nova snov iz starih gradnikov
Spojine nastanejo, ko se atomi različnih elementov kemično povežejo - kot bi različne Lego kocke sestavil v novo figuro. Najbolj fascinantno pri spojinah je, da imajo popolnoma drugačne lastnosti od elementov, iz katerih so nastale.
Kemična formula ti pove, kateri elementi in koliko jih je v spojini. H₂O pomeni 2 atoma vodika in 1 atom kisika. NaCl (kuhinjska sol) vsebuje po en atom natrija in klora.
Poglej ta neverjetni primer: vodik je vnetljiv plin, kisik omogoča gorenje, ko pa se kemično združita v vodo (H₂O), dobiš tekočino, s katero gasiš ogenj! Ali pa natrij - mehka, nevarna kovina, ki reagira z vodo, in klor - strupen zeleni plin. Skupaj naredita kuhinjsko sol, ki jo mirno ješ.
💡 Ključno: Spojina = novi lastnosti, ki so popolnoma drugačne od elementov!
Kako prepoznati element ali spojino
Vprašaj se preprosto: "Je sestavljena iz ene vrste atomov ali iz več različnih?" Helij (He) najdeš v periodnem sistemu z eno vrsto atomov - element. Sladkor (C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁) ima tri različne atome - spojina.
Pazi na pogosto napako! Kisik v zraku (O₂) je še vedno element, ker vsebuje samo atome kisika. Dejstvo, da sta dva atoma povezana, ne naredi spojine.
Elementi ne morejo biti razgrajeni s kemijsko reakcijo, spojine pa lahko. Vodo lahko z elektrolizo razgradiš na vodik in kisik, železa pa ne moreš nič bolj poenostaviti.
💡 Za test: Element = ena vrsta atomov, Spojina = več vrst atomov kemično povezanih
Hiter povzetek za uspeh
Ne zamešaj spojine in zmesi! Spojina ima kemijsko vez in nove lastnosti (sol), zmes pa ohranja lastnosti sestavin in nima kemijskih vezi (slana voda).
Elementi so v periodnem sistemu, imajo simbole in jih ne moremo razgraditi. Primeri: kisik (O), železo (Fe), zlato (Au). Spojine imajo kemijske formule, nove lastnosti in jih lahko razgradimo. Primeri: voda (H₂O), sol (NaCl).
