Čudna priroda svetlosti
Zamisli da imaš prijatelja koji se nekad ponaša kao mirno dete, a nekad kao divlji fudbalista - tako se i svetlost ponaša! Dualna priroda svetlosti znači da ona može biti i talas i čestica, zavisno od situacije.
Do sada si učio da je svetlost talas koji se odbija od ogledala i prelama kroz staklo. To je tačno, ali nije cela priča! Naučnici su otkrili da se svetlost ponekad ponaša kao da je sastavljena od sitnih "loptićaˮ energije.
Najmanji "paketićˮ svetlosti se zove foton - to je čestica svetlosti koja nema masu, ali ima energiju. Zapamti: jedan foton = jedna čestica svetlosti!
Zanimljivo: Ne možeš da vidiš oba ponašanja svetlosti istovremeno - kao da posmatraš kockicu sa dve strane odjednom!
Svetlost kao talas - dokazi koje znaš
Kada svetlost putuje kroz prostor, ponaša se potpuno kao talas na vodi. Evo dokaza koje već prepoznaješ:
Odbijanje i prelamanje - svetlost se odbija od ogledala i menja pravac kad prolazi kroz vodu, baš kao talasi. Difrakcija se dešava kada svetlost prođe kroz mali otvor i "savije seˮ - probaj da gledaš svetlost kroz skoro zatvorene oči!
Najjači dokaz je interferencija - kada se dva svetlosna talasa sretnu, mogu da se pojačaju ili ponište. To pravi svetle i tamne pruge koje čestice nikad ne bi mogle da naprave.
Fotoelektrični efekat je ključni dokaz da je svetlost čestica! Kada svetlost određene boje udari u metal, iz njega "iskaču" elektroni - ali samo ako svetlost ima dovoljno energije. Ako nema, ništa se ne dešava, bez obzira koliko čekaš.
Važno: Ovo je kao gađanje konzerve klikerom - moraš pogoditi dovoljno jako odjednom, ne pomaže ni slabo gađanje satima!
Kako ovo objašnjavamo?
Einstein je objasnio fotoelektrični efekat pomoću fotona. Jedan foton udari u jedan elektron - ako foton ima dovoljno energije, elektron "iskoči" iz metala. Ako nema, ništa se ne dešava.
Talasna teorija ne može ovo da objasni jer bi rekla da se energija polako nakuplja i na kraju izbaci elektron. Ali to se ne dešava - svetlost mora odjednom da ima pravu energiju!
Zbog ovoga kažemo da svetlost ima dualnu prirodu. Kada putuje, to je talas. Kada udara u materiju, to su čestice (fotoni). Eksperiment koji postaviš određuje šta ćeš videti.
Ovo nije greška prirode - tako stvarno funkcioniše! Fizika ponekad opisuje stvari koje su čudne, ali tačne.
Za test: Interferencija = dokaz za talas, fotoelektrični efekat = dokaz za česticu!
Primeri iz tvog života
Talasna priroda vidiš svugde: duga nastaje zbog prelamanja svetlosti u kapljama kiše, a boje na balonu od sapunice zbog interferencije svetlosnih talasa.
Čestična priroda radi u tvom telefonu! Digitalni fotoaparati koriste fotoelektrični efekat - fotoni udaraju u senzor, izbijaju elektrone, i to pravi sliku. Svaki piksel broji fotone koji su ga pogodili.
Solarni paneli rade isto - fotoni iz sunca udaraju u panel i prave električnu struju. LED svetla rade obrnuto - elektroni "padaju" i emituju fotone kao svetlost.
Čak i kad gledaš kroz trepavice i vidiš tamne linije oko svetlosti, to je difrakcija - svetlost se savija oko trepavica kao talas!
Pamti: Kamera u telefonu = čestična priroda, duga = talasna priroda!
Najvažnije za test
Svetlost ima dualnu prirodu - i talas i čestica, zavisno od eksperimenta. Foton je čestica svetlosti - najmanji paketić svetlosne energije.
