Renesansa in humanizem: Vpliv antike na umetnost in znanost

Kaj je renesansa in humanizem?
Predstavljaj si, da se življenje nenadoma ne vrti več samo okoli cerkve in priprav na posmrtno življenje, ampak okoli tebe in tvojih sposobnosti. Ravno to se je zgodilo v renesansi - obdobju "ponovnega rojstva", ki se je začelo v Italiji okoli 14. stoletja.
Humanizem je bila glavna ideja tega časa, ki je poudarjala človeka, njegov razum in dostojanstvo. Humanisti so preučevali stara grška in rimska dela ter verjeli, da lahko človek s svojo pametjo in talentom doseže velike stvari.
Ključni pojmi, ki jih moraš poznati: mecen je bil bogataš, ki je financiral umetnike (predstavljaj si ga kot sponzorja), univerzalni človek pa nekdo, ki je bil nadarjen na več področjih hkrati - kot Leonardo da Vinci, ki je bil slikar, izumitelj in znanstvenik v eni osebi.
Pomembno za test: Srednji vek = teocentrizem (Bog v središču), renesansa = antropocentrizem (človek v središču)
Vzroki za nastanek in značilnosti
Renesansa se ni zgodila kar tako - za njo so stali konkretni razlogi. Italijanska mesta kot Firence so se obogatila zaradi trgovine z Vzhodom. Bogati trgovci so postali meceni in financirali umetnike.
Padec Bizanca leta 1453 je prinesel grške učenjake z antičnimi rokopisi v Italijo. Še pomembnejši je bil Gutenbergov izum tiska okoli 1450 - zdaj so se ideje širile hitreje kot kadarkoli prej.
Renesančna umetnost je bila popolnoma drugačna od srednjeveške. Umetniki so odkrili linearno perspektivo - kako narediti, da slika izgleda prostorsko. Preučevali so anatomijo (tudi z seciranjem trupel!), da so lahko natančno narisali človeško telo.
Leonardo da Vinci je razvil sfumato tehniko - mehke, zabrisane prehode med barvami, ki so dali slikam skrivnosten videz. Teme niso bile več samo verske - pojavljali so se portreti, mitološki prizori in krajine.
Zapomniti: Tisk je omogočil širjenje humanističnih idej po vsej Evropi!
Znanost in umetniška dela
Humanizem je ljudi naredil radovedne in kritične. Nikolaj Kopernik je postavil teorijo, da je Sonce (ne Zemlja) središče vesolja - to je bila revolucija! Galileo Galilei je s teleskopom potrdil njegove ugotovitve, čeprav mu je cerkev grozila.
Leonardo da Vinci je skiciral ideje za padalo, helikopter in tank - stoletja pred svojim časom. V medicini je Andreas Vesalius sistematično preučeval človeško telo.
Mona Liza (Leonardo da Vinci) je popoln primer renesančnega slikarstva. To ni svetnica, ampak resnična oseba s skrivnostnim nasmehom. Opazi sfumato tehniko na obrazu in realistično krajino v ozadju.
Michelangelov David prikazuje popolno moško telo z vsako vidno mišico. Ni prikazan kot deček, ki mu pomaga Bog, ampak kot samozavesten mladenič, ki se zanaša na svojo moč. To je čisti humanizem!
Za test: Primerjaj srednji vek (anonimni umetniki, verske teme, nerealistično) z renesanso (cenjeni umetniki, posvetne teme, realizem)
Zakaj se je začelo v Italiji?
Italija je bila idealno okolje za renesanso iz več razlogov. Severna italijanska mesta so se obogatila zaradi trgovine, zato so imeli dovolj denarja za mecenstvo. Povsod so bili vidni ostanki rimskih zgradb, ki so spodbujali zanimanje za antiko.
Ko je padel Bizanc, so grški učenjaki pribežali v Italijo s svojimi dragocenimi rokopisi. Medičejci v Firencah so bili najpomembnejša družina mecenov - financirali so Michelangela in mnoge druge umetnike.
Univerzalni človek je bil ideal tega časa - nekdo, ki obvlada več področij hkrati. Leonardo da Vinci je bil popoln primer: slikar, izumitelj, znanstvenik, glasbenik in še kaj.
Primerjalna tabela ti bo pomagala pri testu: Srednji vek je bil osredotočen na posmrtno življenje, renesansa pa na uživanje zemeljskega življenja. Srednjeveški umetniki so bili anonimni, renesančni pa cenjeni posamezniki.
Pomembno: Brez Gutenbergovega tiska renesančne ideje ne bi mogle tako hitro preplaviti Evrope in pripraviti tal za reformacijo!
