Uvod v renesančno umetnost
Renesančna umetnost se je rodila v Italiji v 14. stoletju in je pomenila revolucijo v načinu ustvarjanja. Beseda "renesansa" pomeni preporod - umetniki so namreč ponovno odkrili lepoto antičnih grških in rimskih del.
Največja novost je bila, da so umetniki prvič resnično postavili človeka v središče. Namesto samo verskih motivov, naslikanih na ploščat način, so hoteli prikazati človeško telo in naravo čim bolj realistično. To novo filozofijo imenujemo humanizem.
Perspektiva je bila njihova čudežna tehnika - z njo so ustvarili iluzijo globine na ravni sliki. Predmeti, ki so dlje, so naslikali manjši, kar je naredilo slike videti skoraj tridimenzionalne.
Super fact: Brez mecenov (bogatih pokroviteljev kot so Medičejci) renesančni umetniki ne bi mogli ustvarjati svojih mojstrovin - nekdo jih je moral pač plačati!
Leonardo da Vinci - univerzalni genij
Leonardo da Vinci ni bil le slikar, ampak pravi "renesančni človek" - zanimalo ga je čisto vse! Bil je izumitelj, znanstvenik, inženir, glasbenik in še kaj.
Mona Liza je verjetno najbolj znan portret na svetu. Njen skrivnostni nasmeh in pogled, ki ti sledi, sta rezultat Leonardove tehnike sfumato - mehkih, zabrisanih prehodov med barvami. Danes jo lahko vidiš v pariškem Louvru.
Zadnja večerja pa je njegova freska v milanski samostan. Prikazuje trenutek, ko Jezus pove apostolom, da ga bo eden izdal. Leonardo je magistralno prikazal različna čustva na obrazih vsakega apostola.
Pro tip: Pri Zadnji večerji si poglej, kako se vse linije stekajo v Jezusovo glavo - to je popolna linearna perspektiva!
Michelangelo - mojster marmornskih čudes
Če je bil Leonardo znanstvenik, je bil Michelangelo pravi umetniški vulkan - strasten, dramatičen in neverjetno nadarjen kipar.
Njegov David je več kot 5 metrov visok kip iz enega samega kosa marmorja. Prikazuje biblijskega junaka pred spopadom z Goljatom in je popoln simbol humanizma - celebration človeškega telesa in moči.
Poslikava stropa Sikstinske kapele je njegova največja slikarska mojstrovina. Štiri leta je ležal na hrbtu na odru in slikal prizore iz Svetega pisma. Najbolj znan del je "Stvarjenje Adama", kjer se Božji in Adamov prst skoraj dotikata.
Noro dejstvo: Michelangelo se je pritoževal, da "ni slikar", ampak je vseeno ustvaril enega najlepših stropov v zgodovini umetnosti!
Primerjava velikanov in renesančna arhitektura
Da si lažje zapomniš razliko: Leonardo = znanstvenik z mehkim slogom (sfumato), Michelangelo = dramatik z mogočnimi mišicami.
Renesančni arhitekti so se prav tako navdihovali pri antiki. Pozabili so na visoke, temačne gotske katedrale in začeli graditi simetrične, harmonične zgradbe.
Njihove značilnosti so bile geometrijske oblike (krogi, kvadrati), antični elementi (stebri, polkrožni loki) in seveda kupole. Največji dosežek je bila kupola stolnice v Firencah, ki jo je zasnoval Filippo Brunelleschi.
Za test si zapomni: Renesanca = antika + humanizem + realizem + perspektiva!
Kaj moraš vedeti za preverjanje
Renesančna umetnost je bila torej preporod antičnih idealov v Italiji med 14. in 16. stoletjem. Humanizem je postavil človeka v središče, umetniki pa so razvili realizem in perspektivo.
Meceni so bili ključni - brez njih ne bi bilo Medičejcev v Firencah, ki so financirali umetnike. Leonardo je bil vsestranski genij (Mona Liza, Zadnja večerja), Michelangelo pa kipar dramatičnih del (David, Sikstinska kapela).
V arhitekturi so prevladovale kupole, stebri in simetrija - popolna harmonija in red namesto srednjeveškega kaosa.
