Potek Prve Svetovne Vojne: Glavne Fronte in Ključni Dogodki

Začetek vojne in oblikovanje front
Nemški Schlieffnov načrt je predvideval hitro zmago nad Francijo, preden bi se Rusija mobilizirala. Ko je načrt propadel pri bitki na Marni, se je vojna spremenila v dolgotrajno pozicijsko vojno.
Vojna je potekala med centralnimi silami in antanto (Francija, Velika Britanija, Rusija, kasneje Italija in ZDA). Pozicijska vojna ali rovovska vojna je postala značilna predvsem za zahodno fronto, kjer so se vojske zabarikadirala v jarke.
💡 Pomni: Schlieffnov načrt je propadel septembra 1914 pri prvi bitki na Marni - to je ključna prelomnica, ki je vojno spremenila iz bliskovite v pozicijsko.
Glavne fronte in njihove značilnosti
Zahodna fronta se je raztezala od Švice do Severnega morja. Bila je statična, z uporabo bojnih strupov in tankov. Tu so se zgodile ogromne bitke pri Verdunu in na Somi.
Vzhodna fronta je bila veliko bolj mobilna in obsežna. Ruska vojska je bila slabo opremljena, končala pa se je z ruskim izstopom iz vojne. Soška fronta med Avstro-Ogrsko in Italijo je pomenila gorsko bojevanje v težkih pogojih - to je ključno za slovensko zgodovino!
Balkanska fronta se je začela z avstro-ogrskim napadom na Srbijo, kasneje pa se je odprla tudi solunska fronta v Grčiji.
💡 Zanimivost: Na soški fronti so se borili tudi slovenski vojaki v sestavi avstro-ogrske vojske.
Ključna leta vojne (1914-1916)
Leto 1914 je zaznamoval propad nemške bliskovite vojne. Nemci so vdrli v Belgijo in Francijo, a jih je antanta ustavila pri Marni. Do konca leta so se oblikovali jarki od Švice do Severnega morja.
1915 je prineslo vstop Italije v vojno na strani antante in odprtje soške fronte. Nemci so prvič uporabili bojne strupe pri Ypresu. Antanta je neuspešno poskušala zavzeti ožino Dardanele pri Galipolu.
1916 velja za leto velikih bitk in izčrpavanja. Bitka za Verdun je trajala skoraj celo leto in terjala več kot 700.000 žrtev. Bitka na Somi je prinesla prvo uporabo tankov, a več kot milijon žrtev. Cilj ni bil več preboj, ampak izčrpavanje nasprotnika.
💡 Pomni: Verdun in Soma sta simbol besmislnega pobijanja v pozicijski vojni.
Prelomno leto 1917
Leto 1917 je popolnoma spremenilo potek vojne zaradi dveh ključnih dogodkov. Vstop ZDA v vojno je bil posledica neomejene podmorijske vojne - Nemci so začeli potapljati vse ladje, vključno z nevtralnimi. Zimmermannov telegram je dodatno obrnil ameriški javno mnenje.
Ruska revolucija je potekala v dveh fazah. Februarska revolucija je strmoglavila carja, oktobrska pa privedla Lenina in boljševike na oblast z obljubo "mir, zemlja, kruh". Na soški fronti se je zgodil "čudež pri Kobaridu" - preboj avstro-ogrskih in nemških enot.
Prihod ameriških vojakov in sveže opreme je bil odločilen za končno zmago antante. Hkrati pa je ruski izstop iz vojne omogočil Nemčiji, da svoje sile preseli na zahodno fronto.
💡 Ključno: 1917 je leto, ko se je vojno začela prevešati v korist antante kljub ruskemu izstopu.
Konec vojne in posledice (1918)
Marca 1918 je Rusija podpisala mir v Brest-Litovsku in uradno izstopila iz vojne. Nemčija je lahko svoje enote prestavila na zahod za zadnjo spomladansko ofenzivo. Ta je bila sprva uspešna, a se je na koncu ustavila.
Ofenziva 100 dni antante je z množično uporabo tankov in letal potisnila nemške enote nazaj. Septembra in oktobra so kapitulirale Bolgarija, Osmansko cesarstvo in Avstro-Ogrska. Nemčija je 11. novembra 1918 podpisala premirje v Compiègnu.
Vojna je prinesla novo tehnologijo (tanki, letala, bojni strupi), a tudi ogromno število žrtev. Nastanek Sovjetske zveze je korenito spremenil geopolitično sliko sveta za naslednje stoletje.
💡 Zapomni si datum: 11. november 1918 - konec prve svetove vojne s podpisom premirja.

Ta vojna je spremenila svet iz bliskovite v pozicijsko, iz lokalnega v svetovni konflikt. Glavni prelomni dogodki so bili: propad Schlieffnovega načrta, vstop ZDA, ruska revolucija in končna antantna ofenziva.
