Stanje v Franciji pred revolucijo
Predstavljaj si, da živiš v državi, kjer se rodiš v določeno družbeno skupino in iz nje nikoli ne moreš ven. Točno to se je dogajalo v Franciji pred revolucijo, kjer je vladal absolutizem - sistem, v katerem je imel kralj Ludvik XVI. vso oblast.
Francoska družba je bila razdeljena na tri stanove. Prvi stan (duhovščina) in drugi stan (plemstvo) sta imela ogromno privilegijev - nista plačevala davkov in sta živela razkošno. Tretji stan, ki je vključeval kar 97% prebivalstva (kmete, trgovce, obrtnike), pa je moral plačevati vse davke in ni imel nobenih pravic.
Razsvetljenstvo je prineslo nove ideje o svobodi in enakosti. Misleci kot so Voltaire in Rousseau so prepričevali ljudi, da imajo vsi enake pravice. Te ideje so se hitro širile med izobraženci in pripeljale do zahtev po spremembah.
Ključno za razumevanje: Tretji stan je nosil celotno finančno breme države, a ni imel nobene besede pri odločanju!
Vzroki za revolucijo
Francoski kralj je imel resne težave - država je bila praktično pred bankrotom! Denar so porabili za drage vojne in razkošno življenje na dvoru v Versaillesu. Hkrati so slabe letine povzročile pomanjkanje hrane in visoke cene kruha.
Družbena nepravičnost je postala nevzdržna. Medtem ko sta prva dva stanova uživala v bogastvu, je tretji stan trpel zaradi lakote in visokih davkov. Predstavljaj si - skoraj celotno prebivalstvo je moralo preživljati tisto 3%, ki ni nič prispevalo k državni blagajni!
Politično je bil tretji stan popolnoma brez moči. Ko je kralj leta 1789 sklical generalne stanove (parlamentarno telo), je bilo glasovanje še vedno po starih pravilih - vsak stan je imel en glas. To je pomenilo, da sta duhovščina in plemstvo vedno preglasovala tretji stan z 2:1.
Pomni si: Glavni vzrok revolucije ni bila samo lakota, ampak kombinacija gospodarskih težav, družbene nepravičnosti in novih idej o enakosti!
Začetek revolucije in ključni dogodki
14. julij 1789 - ta datum moraš vedeti! Jezno ljubljansko je vdrlo v Bastilijo, trdnjavo in zapor, ki je bil simbol kraljeve tiranije. Čeprav v zaporu ni bilo veliko zapornikov, je bil napad simbolno zelo pomemben - pokazal je, da se ljudstvo ne boji več kralja.
Pred tem so se predstavniki tretjega stanu razglasili za narodno skupščino in se zaprisegli v teniški dvorani, da se ne bodo razšli, dokler ne sprejmejo ustave. To je bilo prvo odprto kljubovanje kraljevi oblasti.
Avgusta 1789 je narodna skupščina sprejela Deklaracijo o pravicah človeka in državljana. Ta dokument je razglasil, da se ljudje rodijo svobodni in enaki ter da oblast izvira iz ljudstva. Geslo revolucije je postalo: "Svoboda, enakost, bratstvo".
Leta 1792 je Francija postala republika, leta 1793 pa so kralja Ludvika XVI. in njegovo ženo Marijo Antoaneto usmrtili z giljotino.
Pomembno za test: Bastilija je padla 14. julija 1789 - to je danes francoski državni praznik!
Obdobje terorja in posledice
Med letoma 1793 in 1794 so na oblast prišli jakobinci pod vodstvom Maximiliana Robespierra. Uvedli so diktaturo in začeli obdobje terorja. Na tisoče ljudi, ki naj bi bili proti revoluciji, so usmrtili z giljotino - vključno s samim Robespierrom!
Revolucija je trajala približno 10 let in popolnoma spremenila Francijo. Odpravila je absolutizem in fevdalizem, uvedla enakost pred zakonom in svobodo veroizpovedi. Vendar je prinesla tudi ogromno nasilja in nestabilnost.
Ideje francoske revolucije so se razširile po vsej Evropi in vplivale na svetovno zgodovino. Načela svobode, enakosti in suverenosti ljudstva so postala temelj modernih demokracij.
Na koncu revolucije je na oblast prišel Napoleon Bonaparte, ki je uvedel novo fazo v francoski in evropski zgodovini.
Za ponavljanje: Revolucija ni bil samo en dogodek, ampak dolgotrajno obdobje z različnimi fazami - od zmerne na začetku do radikalne med jakobinsko diktaturo!
