Spanish Writing Exam Structure
Your Spanish writing exam has three main question types that each require different skills. Photo card questions test your ability to describe what you see, whilst longer writing tasks let you show off your vocabulary range.
For Question 1 (photo card), use the handy PALM method. Start with P (people) using "Hay" or "Veo" plus "personas/hombre/mujer/niños". Then describe A (action) with "Está" plus a verb ending in "-endo" like "jugando". Add L (location) with "Está en" and finish with M (mood) using "parece" plus an emotion.
Don't forget to mention the weather using "Hace buen tiempo" (good weather), "Hace mal tiempo" (bad weather), or "Hace frío" (it's cold). This extra detail shows you can observe and describe thoroughly.
