They're like the framework that holds society together and shapes how we behave. How Society Actually Functions

All these social structures fit into four massive systems: cultural, political, economic, and legal systems. It's like Russian dolls - smaller structures inside bigger ones, all connected and influencing each other.

Social processes are basically what happens when these structures interact with people and each other. Some processes affect millions (like government policies), whilst others happen between just two people (like a conversation with your mate).

Socialisation is probably the most important social process you'll study. It's how you've learned everything from saying 'please' and 'thank you' to knowing what's acceptable behaviour at school versus at home. This process never stops - you're constantly picking up new social cues and adapting your behaviour.

The brilliant thing about studying socialisation is that it shows you where your beliefs actually come from. Your family, school, friends, and even Netflix are all agencies of socialisation that shape who you are without you realising it.
