Jesus' Mission and Salvation
Ever wondered why Christians believe Jesus came to Earth? His mission was pretty straightforward: heal the sick, cast out evil spirits, and preach good news to everyone who needed to hear it.
Salvation is the big idea here - it means deliverance from sin. Christians believe Jesus sacrificed himself on the cross to make this salvation possible for all humans. Think of sin as anything that goes against God's will, basically doing what's morally wrong.

The Bible says "in Christ, we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others." This means Christians see everyone in their community as part of God's family. So churches donate food, support the homeless, and visit people in care homes.

Churches also tackle world poverty because the Bible commands "defend the rights of the poor and needy." Many Christians see fighting poverty as their religious duty, following Jesus' example. Christian Aid (started in 1945) and the Salvation Army work with local churches on these issues.
Evangelists spread Christianity through preaching, but churches also grow when Christians simply help others in need - actions often speak louder than words, naturally attracting people to the faith.
