Multiplying Fractions
Multiplying fractions is dead simple - just multiply the tops together and the bottoms together. For example, 7/15 × 3/4 = 21/60, which simplifies to 7/20.
Always check if your answer can be simplified by finding common factors. Sometimes your answer might already be in its simplest form, like when 4/7 × 9/5 gives you 36/35.
When you've got mixed numbers like 2¾, convert them to improper fractions first. So 4/5 × 2¾ becomes 4/5 × 11/4 = 44/20, which simplifies to 11/5.
Quick tip: When you multiply fractions that are both less than 1, your answer will always be smaller than either fraction you started with!

Dividing Fractions
Dividing fractions follows a simple four-step process that never changes. First, write out your division problem. Then flip the second fraction upside down. Next, change the division sign to multiplication, and finally multiply the fractions normally.
Let's see this in action: 3/4 ÷ 5/9 becomes 3/4 × 9/5 = 27/20. Don't forget to check if your answer can be simplified - like 2/3 ÷ 4/5 = 2/3 × 5/4 = 10/12 = 5/6.
For mixed numbers, convert to improper fractions first. So 3½ ÷ 2/5 becomes 7/2 ÷ 2/5, then 7/2 × 5/2 = 35/4. Convert this back to get 8¾ as your final answer.
Remember: "Keep, Change, Flip" - keep the first fraction, change divide to multiply, flip the second fraction!
