Uzroci i kontekst Balkanskih ratova
Zamislite Osmansko carstvo kao "bolesnika na Bosforu" - tako su ga u to vreme zvali jer je bilo veoma slabo. Balkanske države su konačno videle šansu da se obračunaju sa Turcima i oslobode svoje ljude koji su još uvek bili pod turskom vlašću.
Istočno pitanje je bio glavni problem tog vremena. To je bilo pitanje šta će se desiti sa slabim Osmanskim carstvom i kako će se podeliti njegove teritorije. Velike sile kao što su Rusija i Austrougarska su se borile za uticaj, dok su balkanski narodi samo hteli slobodu.
Mladoturska revolucija iz 1908. je pokušala da modernizuje Tursku, ali je samo pogoršala stvari. Njihova politika "otomanizacije" - nametanje turskog identiteta svim narodima - samo je ubrzala želju za oslobođenjem. Austrougarska je iskoristila kaos i anektirala Bosnu i Hercegovinu, što je dodatno naljutilo Srbiju.
Zapamti: Balkanski savez je nastao 1912. uz podršku Rusije, ali bez jasnog dogovora o podeli teritorija - što će kasnije biti problem!
Prvi balkanski rat (1912-1913)
Kada je Turska odbila da da autonomiju oblastima kao što su Stara Srbija i Makedonija, Crna Gora je prva objavila rat. Srbija, Bugarska i Grčka su se pridružile, formirajući snažan front protiv Osmanlija.
Srpska vojska je briljirala u ovom ratu. Kumanovska bitka u oktobru 1912. bila je spektakularna pobeda pod komandom regenta Aleksandra i načelnika štaba Radomira Putnika. Nakon toga je usledila Bitoljska bitka koja je definitivno slomila tursku vojsku.
Najvažnije je bilo što je srpska vojska stigla do Jadranskog mora kod Lješa i Drača! Ovo je bio san svih Srba, ali Austrougarska i Italija su se tome oštro protivile.
Londonski mir iz maja 1913. je završio rat. Turska je izgubila skoro sve u Evropi, ostao joj je samo deo oko Carigrada. Međutim, nastala je Albanija - što je bio direktan udarcač Srbiji jer joj je onemogućen izlaz na more.
Pažnja: Pitanje podele Makedonije nije rešeno - to će biti razlog za novi rat!
Drugi balkanski rat (1913)
Bugarska je bila besna zbog podele teritorija i smatrala je da je dobila premalo u Makedoniji. U noći 29/30. juna 1913, bez objave rata, napala je srpske i grčke položaje na reci Bregalnici - što je bio veliki propust!
Ovaj put su se svi okrenuli protiv Bugarske: Srbija, Grčka, Crna Gora, Rumunija, pa čak i Osmansko carstvo koje je videlo priliku za osvetu. Bugarska se našla potpuno sama.
Bregalnička bitka je bila odlučujuća. Srpska vojska je slomila bugarski napad i pokazala da je postala prava vojna sila na Balkanu. Bugarska je brzo poražena na svim frontovima.
Bukureštanski mir iz avgusta 1913. je bio katastrofalan za Bugarsku. Srbija je dobila Vardarsku Makedoniju, Grčka Egejsku Makedoniju oko Soluna, a Bugarska je morala da se odrekne svojih pretenzija. Rumunija je dobila Dobrudžu, a Turska je povratila Jedrene.
Ključno: Ovaj rat je pokazao da je Srbija postala "balkanski Pijemont" - najjača sila na poluostrvu!
Posledice i značaj Balkanskih ratova
Teritorijalne promene su bile dramatične. Srbija je skoro udvostručila svoju teritoriju - oslobodila je Kosovo, Metohiju, Rašku oblast i Vardarsku Makedoniju. Od male kraljevine postala je značajna regionalna sila.
Vojno iskustvo koje je srpska vojska stekla bilo je neprocenjivo, ali je bila i iscrpljena. Ogromni ljudski i materijalni gubici su obeležili sve učesnike ratova.
Najvažnije su bile političke posledice. Srbija je postala magnet za sve Južne Slovene, posebno one u Austrougarskoj. Beč je to video kao smrtnu opasnost - ojačana Srbija je mogla da privuče Hrvate, Slovence i Bosance koji su živeli u Monarhiji.
Odnosi između balkanskih država su trajno narušeni. Srbija i Bugarska su postale neprijatelji, što će imati posledice u Prvom svetskom ratu kada će se naći na suprotnim stranama.
Najvažnije: Ovi ratovi su bili direktan uvod u Prvi svetski rat - Austrougarska je nakon 1913. tražila bilo koji povod da se obračuna sa Srbijom!
Ključne stvari za pamćenje
Razlikuj uzroke od povoda: Uzroci su bili dublji (slabljenje Turske, želja za oslobođenjem), dok su povodi konkretni događaji koji pokreću rat (bugarski napad na Bregalnici).
Makedonija kao "jabuka razdora" je bila glavni problem. Srbija, Bugarska i Grčka su sve imale legitime pretenzije na nju zbog istorijskih i etničkih razloga, što je rastrojilo Balkanski savez.
Velike sile su se stalno mešale: Rusija je podržavala pravoslavni blok, dok je Austrougarska radila protiv srpskih interesa (aneksija BiH, stvaranje Albanije da spreči izlaz na more).
