The 1920s witnessed incredible economic growth in America. Mass production revolutionised manufacturing, with Henry Ford's assembly line making cars affordable for ordinary Americans. The Model T's price dropped dramatically from $800 to$245, helping 15 million Americans purchase vehicles between 1911-1929.

Entertainment exploded in popularity during this period. Cinema thrived with stars like Charlie Chaplin, who founded United Artists in 1919. Radio ownership reached 50 million by 1928, broadcasting live sporting events nationwide. Sports like baseball and boxing became national obsessions, while brands like Coca-Cola began sponsoring major events like the 1928 Olympics.

Women's lives transformed dramatically after gaining voting rights in 1920 through NAWSA's efforts. The flapper movement emerged, with women adopting new fashions influenced by Hollywood stars like Joan Crawford. About 10.6 million women joined the workforce, though poorer women couldn't afford the flapper lifestyle, leading to opposition movements like the Anti-Flapper Club.
