The reasons young people watch TV reveal a lot: 87% watch for fun, 85% to relax, 72% to stay informed, and 50% simply to join conversations with friends. However, television content can be problematic - children see an average of 43 swear words, 28 shootings, 8 murders, and 4 sex scenes daily.
Multitasking defines modern viewing habits. Whilst watching TV, 60% of teens simultaneously search online for information about their programmes, 52% chat with friends on social networks about what they're watching, and 65% choose shows based on friends' online recommendations.
