The Arrogant Tyrant
Ozymandias was clearly a ruler who loved showing off his power and treating people harshly. The poem describes his "sneer of cold command" - basically, he had that cruel smile of someone who enjoys being in control.
The harsh sounds in this phrase (called alliteration) mirror his cruel personality. You can almost hear the coldness in those 'c' sounds, can't you?
His famous boastful inscription "Look on my works, Ye mighty, and despair!" shows just how arrogant he was. He wanted other powerful leaders to feel intimidated by what he'd built, believing his achievements would last forever.
Think about it: Have you ever met someone who acts like they're better than everyone else? Ozymandias takes that attitude to the extreme!
