OLD MAJOR
Mr. Jones' prize boar is Old Major. To deliver his speech, he gathers all the
animals in the large bar

The Leaders and Visionaries

Old Major is the wise prize boar who sparks everything with his revolutionary speech in the barn. He's the one who tells all the animals that humans are their enemies and predicts a future where animals will overthrow their oppressors. Think of him as the inspiring teacher who plants the seeds of change before passing away.

His ideas become Animalism - basically the animal version of socialism that the pigs later twist for their own benefit. Old Major teaches the animals "Beasts of England," a song about freedom that becomes their anthem.

Napoleon might look fierce, but he's actually a sneaky manipulator rather than a great speaker. This Berkshire boar knows exactly how to get what he wants, especially by training those sheep to chant "four legs good, two legs bad" whenever someone tries to argue against him.

Key Point: Napoleon secretly raises puppies as his personal army - a classic dictator move that shows he's planning to seize power from the very beginning.

The most chilling thing about Napoleon is how he gradually becomes worse than the humans the animals originally rebelled against.

The Idealist and the Propagandist

Snowball represents the intelligent revolutionary who actually cares about improving life for everyone. Unlike Napoleon, he's got brilliant ideas for education and farm improvements, plus he's genuinely brave - just look at how he leads the animals in the Battle of the Cowshed.

Unfortunately, caring about others doesn't help when you're up against someone ruthless. Napoleon uses his guard dogs to chase Snowball away, then spends the rest of the story blaming him for every single problem that occurs.

Squealer is Napoleon's smooth-talking right-hand pig who can convince the animals that black is white. He's got the gift of persuasion down to an art form, constantly justifying Napoleon's increasingly harsh decisions and spreading lies that the other animals somehow believe.

Key Point: Squealer represents how propaganda works in real dictatorships - he doesn't just spread lies, he makes them sound logical and necessary.

Think of Squealer as that mate who could talk you into anything, except he's using his powers for evil rather than convincing you to skip revision.

The Tragic Heroes

Boxer is probably the most heartbreaking character in the entire story. This loyal horse works himself literally to death, always believing that harder work will solve every problem. His mottos "I will work harder" and "Napoleon is always right" show just how completely he trusts the wrong leaders.

The really tragic bit? Boxer is strong enough to fight back against the pigs and dogs, but he's so used to following orders that he never does. When he finally collapses from exhaustion, the pigs sell him to the horse slaughterer to buy more whisky.

Benjamin the donkey is the complete opposite - he's the cynical realist who sees through everyone's lies but chooses to stay silent. He never gets excited when things go well and never seems surprised when they go badly.

Key Point: Benjamin represents people who recognise corruption but feel powerless to stop it - his silence makes him partly responsible for what happens.

Mr. Jones, the original farm owner, spends most of his time drinking instead of caring for his animals. He's lazy and neglectful, which makes the animal rebellion possible, but ironically Napoleon ends up being far worse than Jones ever was.

The app is very easy to use and well designed. I have found everything I was looking for so far and have been able to learn a lot from the presentations! I will definitely use the app for a class assignment! And of course it also helps a lot as an inspiration.

This app is really great. There are so many study notes and help [...]. My problem subject is French, for example, and the app has so many options for help. Thanks to this app, I have improved my French. I would recommend it to anyone.

Wow, I am really amazed. I just tried the app because I've seen it advertised many times and was absolutely stunned. This app is THE HELP you want for school and above all, it offers so many things, such as workouts and fact sheets, which have been VERY helpful to me personally.
