A Christmas Carol: Plot Summary and Key Characters

Ebenezer Scrooge starts as a wealthy but greedy miser who despises Christmas, calling it "humbug" and refusing his nephew Fred's dinner invitation. Written by Charles Dickens in 1843, this novella is split into five sections called staves and uses a third-person narrative to follow Scrooge's dramatic transformation.
