Questions 2 & 3: Comparing Texts Like a Pro
Question 2 is all about spotting differences without getting bogged down in analysis. Start with "One difference between the... is..." then give your evidence from both sources. Keep it simple - state the difference, quote your proof, and move on.
Question 3 steps things up by asking you to analyse language whilst comparing. Your magic formula starts with identifying the difference, then dives into quotations from each source. Use phrases like "This suggests..." or "This reveals..." to show you understand what the writer's trying to achieve.
Don't forget your comparison words - "However," "Contrastingly," and "On the other hand" will signal to examiners that you're properly comparing rather than just describing two separate texts. These connecting phrases are absolute gold for showing analytical thinking.
