Question Three asks you to analyse how the writer uses structure to interest you as a reader. You've got 10 minutes to write your response for 8 marks, so efficiency is key here.

The examiners want to see that you can spot and explain the writer's structural choices - basically, how they've organised their text to create maximum impact. Think of it like examining the blueprint of a building to understand why it works so well.

You need to focus on how the writer's decisions about order of events, pace, focus, and time changes affect your experience as a reader. Does the structure make you feel anxious? Curious? Sympathetic? That's what you're hunting for.
