Uvod u školsku terminologiju

Verovatno već znaš neke engleske reči o školi, a sad ćeš proširiti svoj rečnik sa svim važnim pojmovima. Školski predmeti (school subjects) su osnova - bez njih ne možeš ni da opišeš svoj dan!

Raspored časova (timetable) ti pomaže da organizuješ vreme, a odmori (breaks) su ti omiljeni deo dana. Postoje kratki odmori (short breaks) i veliki odmor za ručak (lunch break).

Reč grade ima dva značenja - može da znači razred ("I am in the 7th grade") ili ocenu ("I got a good grade"). Domaći zadatak (homework) i testovi $exams/tests$ su neizbežni deo školovanja.

💡 Zapamti: Grade = i razred i ocena, zavisi od konteksta!

Školski predmeti i ljudi u školi

Matematika se u engleskom uvek piše kao "Maths" sa 's' na kraju! Srpski jezik, engleski, istorija, geografija - sve ove predmete već poznaješ, samo sada učiš kako se kažu na engleskom.

Hemija (Chemistry) i fizika (Physics) počinju tek u sedmom razredu. Likovno se kaže "Art", muzičko je "Music", a fizičko vaspitanje je "P.E." (Physical Education).

Za ljude u školi zapamti: student si ti (pupil je za mlađe), teacher je nastavnik, classmates su ti drugovi iz odeljenja. Headteacher ili principal je direktor škole.

💡 Korisno: Student se koristi za starije učenike, pupil za mlađe osnovce!

Mesta u školi i učionica

Učionica (classroom) je tvoje glavno mesto rada, ali imaš i salu za fizičko (gym), biblioteku (library) i trpezariju (canteen). Školsko dvorište $playground/schoolyard$ je mesto za igru i druženje.

Hodnik (hall) povezuje sve prostorije, zbornica (staffroom) je za nastavnike, a direktorska kancelarija (headteacher's office) je mesto gde ne želiš često da idešh!

U učionici imaš klupu (desk), stolicu (chair) i tablu $blackboard/whiteboard$ . Kreda (chalk) se koristi za crnu tablu, a flomaster (marker) za belu.

💡 Pametno: Gym je skraćenica od gymnasium - lakše za pamćenje!

Školski pribor i aktivnosti

Udžbenik (textbook), sveska (notebook), olovka $pen/pencil$ i pernica (pencil case) su tvoji najbolji prijatelji. Ne zaboravi gumicu $rubber/eraser$ , lenjir (ruler) i školsku torbu $school bag/backpack$ .

Najvažniji glagoli koji ti trebaju: to learn $učiti - usvajati novo znanje$ , to study $učiti - spremati se za test$ , to do homework (raditi domaći). Razlika je ključna!

To take an exam znači polagati ispit, to pass je položiti, a to fail je pasti. To pay attention (paziti na času) i to ask/answer questions $postavljati/odgovarati na pitanja$ su važne aktivnosti.

💡 Pažnja: Learn = naučiti nešto novo, Study = spremati se za test!

Primeri rečenica za vežbu

Evo kako koristiš ove reči u stvarnim rečenicama! "My favourite subject is Geography because I like learning about different countries" - tako opisuješ omiljeni predmet.

"We have P.E. in the gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays" - ovako objašnjavaš raspored. "During the break, I talk with my classmates in the hall" - opisuješ aktivnosti u odmoru.

Za učenje kažeš: "I need to study hard for the Physics test next week" ili "I hope I will pass the exam and get a good grade". Vidiš kako se sve lepo uklapa?

💡 Greška: Nikad ne kažeš "learning for the test" - uvek "studying for the test"!

Ponovićemo šta su glasovi i kako se dele, a zatim ćemo učiti o važnim promenama koje se dešavaju kada se glasovi nađu jedan pored drugog u rečima (npr. jednačenje suglasnika po zvučnosti i mestu tvorbe).
