Kaj so oportunitetni stroški?
Predstavljaj si, da imaš 20 € in se ne moreš odločiti med novo videoigro ali večerjo s prijatelji. Oportunitetni strošek je tisto, česar se odrečeš zaradi svoje izbire - torej če izbereš igro, je tvoj oportunitetni strošek zabava s prijatelji.
Ta koncept obstaja zaradi redkosti virov. Naši viri (denar, čas, energija) so omejeni, želje pa neomejene. Zato se moramo nenehno odločati in pri vsaki odločitvi nekaj žrtvovati.
Pozor! Oportunitetni strošek ni vsota vseh alternativ, ampak vrednost samo najboljše zamujene priložnosti. Če se odločaš med sladoledom, čokolado in sadjem ter izbereš sladoled, je tvoj oportunitetni strošek le čokolada (če je tvoja druga izbira), ne pa čokolada plus sadje.
💡 Pomembno: Oportunitetni strošek ni samo denar, ki ga porabiš - vključuje tudi čas, izkušnje in priložnosti, ki jih zamudiš!
Kako prepoznaš oportunitetni strošek?
Proces je preprost in ga lahko uporabljaš pri vseh odločitvah. Najprej prepoznaj vse možne alternative - kaj vse bi lahko naredil s svojim časom ali denarjem? Nato opredeli najboljšo alternativo tisti, ki si jo izbral.
Recimo, da imaš soboto popoldne 3 ure prostega časa. Možnosti so učenje za matematiko, gledanje filma ali pomoč staršem. Če se odločiš za učenje, tvoj oportunitetni strošek ni pomoč staršem plus film, ampak samo gledanje filma (če je to tvoja druga najboljša izbira).
Tudi podjetja se soočajo s takimi odločitvami. Pekarna, ki lahko speče 100 hlebcev kruha ali 300 rogljičkov, mora izbrati. Če izbere kruh, je njen oportunitetni strošek 300 rogljičkov in ves dobiček, ki bi ga z njimi zaslužila.
💡 Za test: Ne-odločitev je tudi odločitev! Če ne porabiš denarja in ga shraniš, je oportunitetni strošek takojšnje zadovoljstvo z nakupom.
Praktični primeri za boljše razumevanje
Primer z denarjem: Imaš 20 € in izbiraš med videoigro in večerjo s prijatelji. Če izbereš videoigro, "cena" ni samo 20 €, ampak tudi zamujena večerja in čas s prijatelji. To je pravi oportunitetni strošek.
Primer s časom: Če greš v kino za 2 uri, strošek ni samo vstopnina, ampak tudi 2 uri, ki bi ju lahko porabil za učenje za jutri. Posledica je lahko slabša ocena na testu.
Ta ekonomska odločitev velja za posameznike, podjetja in celo države. Ko država gradi avtocesto namesto bolnišnice, je oportunitetni strošek zdravstvena oskrba, ki je ne bo.
💡 Hiter test: Vprašaj se "Česa ne morem imeti/narediti, ker sem izbral to?" - odgovor je tvoj oportunitetni strošek.
