Inside a Computer Components

Think of your computer like a well-organised team where each component has a specific job. The motherboard acts as the central hub - it's basically the foundation where all other parts connect and communicate with each other.

The CPU (Central Processing Unit) is genuinely the brain of your computer. Every click, every calculation, and every program you run gets processed here. It handles all the arithmetic, logic, and controlling operations that make your computer actually function.

Your computer needs two types of storage to work properly. RAM (Random Access Memory) is like your computer's short-term memory - it stores data temporarily so your CPU can access it super quickly whilst you're working. Meanwhile, your hard drive (HDD) or solid state drive (SSD) provides long-term storage for all your files, programs, and operating system.

Quick Tip: SSDs are much faster than traditional HDDs, which is why newer computers feel so much snappier when opening programs!

The GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) handles all the visual stuff you see on screen. Whether you're watching videos, playing games, or just browsing the web, the GPU renders these graphics properly. Finally, fans and heat sinks work together as your computer's cooling system, preventing components like the CPU from overheating during intensive tasks.
