Paper One focuses on the science behind physical performance - think anatomy, physiology, and training methods. You'll need to understand how your musculoskeletal system and cardio-respiratory system work together during exercise, plus master concepts like anaerobic and aerobic exercise and their effects on your body.

The movement analysis section covers lever systems and how they give you mechanical advantage in different sports. You'll also explore planes and axes of movement - basically how your body moves in 3D space during activities.

Physical training is all about getting results safely and effectively. This includes understanding fitness components, applying training principles, and knowing how proper warm-up and cool-down routines prevent injuries whilst optimising performance.

Paper Two shifts to the mental and social side of sport. Topics range from sports psychology (including arousal, motivation, and personality types) to broader issues like commercialisation, barriers to participation, and how technology impacts modern sport.
