Proprietăți Fizice și Amestecuri de Substanțe
Substanțele din lumea noastră pot fi identificate prin proprietăți fizice care pot fi observate direct. Aceste proprietăți includ aspectul exterior (culoare, luciu), deformabilitatea (fragil sau elastic), mirosul și uneori gustul (deși testarea gustului nu mai este recomandată pentru siguranță).
În natură, substanțele apar adesea în amestecuri care pot fi de două tipuri. Amestecurile omogene au compoziție uniformă în toată masa lor, pe când amestecurile eterogene au compoziție neuniformă. Fiecare tip de amestec poate fi separat prin metode specifice. De exemplu, separăm nisipul prin cernere, apa cu argilă prin filtrare, iar apa sărată prin distilare.
Putem clasifica amestecurile după starea lor de agregare: solid-solid (ca nisipul), solid-lichid (suspensii), lichid-lichid (emulsii ca laptele), solid-gaz (fum) sau lichid-gaz (ceață). Fiecare tip are caracteristici specifice și necesită metode diferite de separare.
💡 Știai că? Majoritatea substanțelor pe care le folosim zilnic sunt de fapt amestecuri! Aerul pe care îl respirăm, băuturile preferate și chiar obiectele solide din jur sunt adesea amestecuri de mai multe substanțe.
Proprietăți Caracteristice ale Substanțelor Pure
Densitatea este una dintre cele mai importante proprietăți pentru identificarea substanțelor. Ea reprezintă raportul dintre masa și volumul unei substanțe și se măsoară în g/cm³. Apa are o densitate de 1 g/cm³ la temperatura normală, oferind un reper important pentru compararea altor substanțe.
Temperatura de fierbere și temperatura de topire sunt puncte fixe pentru substanțele pure, dar variază în funcție de presiune. La presiunea normală de 1013 hPa, fiecare substanță pură are temperaturi specifice de fierbere și topire. Aceste valori ne ajută să identificăm substanțele necunoscute.
Un aspect important de reținut este că doar substanțele pure au puncte fixe de fierbere și topire, în timp ce amestecurile prezintă intervale de temperaturi pentru aceste procese. Această diferență ne permite să distingem ușor între substanțe pure și amestecuri.
💡 Aplicație practică: Când încălzești apă pură, temperatura rămâne la 100°C pe toată durata fierberii. Dacă adaugi sare, temperatura de fierbere crește și nu mai rămâne constantă - acesta este un mod simplu de a verifica puritatea unei substanțe!
