Vrei să știi cum numărăm particulele în chimie? Cantitatea de substanță (simbolizată prin n) este măsura fundamentală care ne spune exact câte particule avem într-o substanță. Unitatea de măsură este molul (mol).

Un mol conține exact 6,022 × 10^23 particule (atomi, molecule sau ioni). Acest număr magic se numește constanta lui Avogadro (NA) și ne ajută să calculăm cantitatea de substanță folosind formula: n(x) = N(x)/NA, unde N(x) este numărul de particule.

Masa atomică (ma) reprezintă cât cântărește un atom, măsurată în unități atomice de masă (u). Aceasta este definită în raport cu izotopul carbon-12. Valorile maselor atomice pentru fiecare element se găsesc direct în Tabelul Periodic.

Masa molară (M) ne spune cât cântărește un mol din substanța respectivă și se măsoară în g/mol. Este calculată cu formula M(x) = m(x)/n(x). Un lucru util de reținut: valoarea numerică a masei molare în g/mol este aceeași cu valoarea masei atomice în u!

Numărul de Particule și Volumul Molar

Când lucrăm cu substanțe chimice, adesea avem nevoie să știm numărul efectiv de particule (N) dintr-o probă. Acesta se calculează înmulțind numărul de moli cu constanta lui Avogadro: N(x) = n(x) × NA. Această relație simplă face legătura directă între cantitatea macroscopică de substanță și lumea microscopică a particulelor.

Volumul molar (Vm) este spațiul ocupat de un mol de substanță și se măsoară în L/mol. Îl calculăm folosind formula Vm(x) = V(x)/n(x). Acest concept este deosebit de util când lucrăm cu gaze.

În condiții normale (0°C și presiune de 1013 hPa), toate gazele ocupă același volum molar de 22,4 L/mol. Acest fapt remarcabil ne permite să facem calcule rapide și precise pentru gaze, indiferent de compoziția lor chimică.

Masele molare ale elementelor comune precum hidrogenul $1,008 g/mol$ , carbonul $12,01 g/mol$ , azotul $14,01 g/mol$ și oxigenul $16,00 g/mol$ sunt esențiale pentru calcularea maselor molare ale compușilor.
