Brain Structure - The Three Main Regions
Your brain isn't just one big blob of tissue - it's actually organised into three distinct regions, each with its own special job. The cerebrum is the largest part and handles your thinking, memory, and personality - basically everything that makes you, you.
The cerebellum (which means "little brain") sits at the back and is your balance and coordination expert. Every time you ride a bike or catch a ball, you've got your cerebellum to thank.
Finally, the medulla oblongata might have a fancy name, but it's doing the most essential work - controlling your breathing, heart rate, and other life-or-death functions that happen automatically.
Memory Trick: Cerebrum = Clever thinking, Cerebellum = Coordination, Medulla = Must-have survival functions!
