Introduction to Photosynthesis
Ever wondered how plants create their own food without needing to hunt or shop? Photosynthesis is the amazing process that lets plants do exactly this. They use energy from sunlight to convert carbon dioxide from the air and water from their roots into glucose (sugar) and oxygen.
This incredible process happens inside chloroplasts, which are tiny structures found in plant cells. Think of chloroplasts as nature's solar panels - they capture light energy from the environment and use it to power the whole operation.
Photosynthesis is an endothermic reaction, which means it needs energy input to work. The energy comes from sunlight, making plants essentially living solar-powered food factories.
