Electron microscopes revolutionize our view of the microscopic world by using electron beams with wavelengths under 1nm. Light microscopes remain valuable tools despite lower magnification (up to 2,000x). They're inexpensive, portable, simple to operate, and can examine living specimens without requiring a vacuum. The Laser Scanning Confocal Microscope represents an advanced light microscope that uses laser beams to make fluorescent dyes in the specimen emit light, creating exceptionally clear images by blocking out-of-focus light through a pinhole.
