Kurzsichtigkeit und Weitsichtigkeit erklärt
Kurzsichtigkeit (Myopie) und Weitsichtigkeit (Hyperopie) sind zwei häufige Sehfehler, die das Sehvermögen auf unterschiedliche Weise beeinflussen. Bei der Kurzsichtigkeit ist die Brechkraft des Auges zu groß, was dazu führt, dass weit entfernte Gegenstände nicht scharf gesehen werden können. Das Bild entsteht vor der Netzhaut. Im Gegensatz dazu ist bei der Weitsichtigkeit die Brechkraft des Auges zu klein, wodurch Gegenstände in der Nähe nicht scharf abgebildet werden können. Hier entsteht das Bild hinter der Netzhaut.
Vocabulary: Myopie ist der medizinische Fachbegriff für Kurzsichtigkeit, während Hyperopie oder Hypermetropie die Fachbegriffe für Weitsichtigkeit sind.
Zur Korrektur dieser Sehfehler werden unterschiedliche Brillengläser verwendet:
- Für Kurzsichtigkeit wird eine Zerstreuungslinse mit negativer Dioptrienzahl eingesetzt.
- Bei Weitsichtigkeit kommt eine Sammellinse mit positiver Dioptrienzahl zum Einsatz.
Highlight: Kurzsichtige Menschen können nahe Gegenstände tadellos scharf sehen, haben aber Probleme mit entfernten Objekten. Weitsichtige hingegen sehen in der Ferne scharf, haben aber Schwierigkeiten beim Nahsehen.
