Přítomné časy - Simple Present a Present Progressive
Simple Present používáš pro věci, které se opakují nebo jsou všeobecně pravdivé. Tvoříš ho jednoduše - třetí osoba jednotného čísla má koncovku -s (he speaks), u záporů a otázek používáš pomocné sloveso "do/does".
Nejčastěji ho potřebuješ pro rutiny a návyky - "I go to school every day" nebo fakta - "Water boils at 100°C". Signální slova jako always, often, never ti napoví, že jde o Simple Present.
Present Progressive naopak popisuje, co se děje právě teď. Používáš am/is/are + -ing tvar slovesa. "I am studying" znamená, že se učíš v tuto chvíli, ne obecně.
💡 Tip: Když slyšíš "Look!" nebo "Listen!", je jasné, že následuje Present Progressive.
Minulé časy - Simple Past a Past Progressive
Simple Past je tvůj nejlepší kamarád pro vyprávění příběhů z minulosti. Pravidelná slovesa mají koncovku -ed, nepravidelná si musíš zapamatovat .
Používáš ho pro jednorázové události - "I visited London last year" nebo série dějů - "He came home, opened the door and sat down". Signální slova yesterday, ago, last week ti pomohou rozpoznat tento čas.
Past Progressive ukazuje, co probíhało v určitém okamžiku minulosti. Tvoříš ho pomocí was/were + -ing. Často ho kombinuješ se Simple Past: "I was watching TV when he called."
💡 Pamatuj si: While (zatímco) téměř vždycky signalizuje Past Progressive.

Present Perfect Simple je možná nejtěžší čas na pochopení, ale velmi užitečný. Vyjadřuješ jím spojení minulosti s přítomností - have/has + 3. tvar slovesa.
Používáš ho pro zkušenosti ("I have been to Paris"), výsledky ("I have finished my homework") nebo děje trvající do současnosti. Signální slova already, just, never, yet jsou tvoje vodítka.
Present Perfect Progressive zdůrazňuje trvání děje až do současnosti. "I have been studying for three hours" - stále se učíš a je vidět, jak dlouho to trvá.
💡 Rozlišování: Simple = výsledek, Progressive = trvání děje.
Past Perfect časy - pohled do vzdálené minulosti
Past Perfect Simple používáš, když chceš ukázat, že se něco stalo před jiným dějem v minulosti. Had + 3. tvar slovesa ti pomůže seřadit události chronologicky.
"When I arrived, he had already left" - nejdřív odešel, potom jsem přišel já. Tento čas často najdeš v nepřímé řeči a složitějších vyprávěních.
Past Perfect Progressive funguje podobně, ale zdůrazňuje trvání děje před určitým okamžikem v minulosti. "I had been waiting for an hour when she finally came."
💡 Praktický tip: Past Perfect často následuje po "after" nebo předchází "before".
Jak si zapamatovat anglické časy
Klíčem k úspěchu je pochopit, zda chceš zdůraznit děj samotný nebo jeho výsledek. Progressive časy vždycky ukazují průběh, zatímco simple časy se zaměřují na fakt nebo výsledek.
