Modálne slovesá - Čo to je?
Modálne slovesá sú tvoje najlepšie kamarátky pri rozhovore v angličtine! Tieto špeciálne slovesá ti pomôžu vyjadriť, čo dokážeš, čo musíš a čo by bolo dobré urobiť.
Modálne slovesá sú pomocné slovesá, ktoré vždy idú pred hlavným slovesom. Najkrajšie na nich je, že sa vôbec nemenia - či hovoríš I, you, he alebo she, modálne sloveso zostáva rovnaké!
Super dôležité pravidlo: Po modálnom slovese vždy nasleduje základný tvar slovesa - bez "to", bez "-s", bez "-ing". Napríklad: can play, must listen, should study.
Tip na zapamätanie: Modálne slovesá sú ako kúzelné paličky - jedným slovom zmenia celý význam vety!
Can/Can't - Čo vieš a nevieš
Can a can't používaš, keď chceš povedať, čo dokážeš alebo nedokážeš urobiť. Je to ako tvoja osobná superschopnosť!
Kladné vety: I can swim. (Viem plávať.) She can speak English. (Ona vie hovoriť anglicky.)
Záporné vety: I can't fly. (Neviem lietať.) Birds can't swim well. (Vtáky nevedia dobre plávať.)
Otázky: Can you help me? (Vieš mi pomôcť?) Can he play guitar? (Vie hrať na gitare?)
Pozor: Nikdy nepovedz "I can to swim" - je to chyba! Vždy len "I can swim".
Krátke odpovede sú jednoduché: Yes, I can. alebo No, I can't. Takto sa vyhneš dlhému opakovaniu celej vety.
Must/Mustn't - Pravidlá a zákazy
Must a mustn't sú ako prísni rodičia - hovoria ti, čo musíš robiť a čo je absolútne zakázané.
Must používaš pri povinnostiach: You must do your homework. (Musíš si urobiť úlohy.) Students must listen to the teacher. (Študenti musia počúvať učiteľa.)
Mustn't znamená prísny zákaz: You mustn't run in corridors. (Nesmieš behať po chodbách.) We mustn't talk during the test. (Nesmieme sa rozprávať počas testu.)
Otázky s must sú menej časté, ale môžeš sa spýtať: Must I clean my room? (Musím si upratať izbu?)
Dôležité: Mustn't nie je len "nemusíš" - je to "NESMIEŠ"! Je to veľký rozdiel.
Should/Shouldn't - Múdre rady
Should a shouldn't sú ako dobrý kamarát, ktorý ti dá užitočnú radu. Nie je to príkaz, ale odporúčanie, čo by bolo múdre urobiť.
Should používaš pri radách: You should eat vegetables. (Mal by si jesť zeleninu.) We should help friends. (Mali by sme pomáhať kamarátom.)
Shouldn't je negatívna rada: He shouldn't play games all day. (Nemal by hrať hry celý deň.) You shouldn't go to bed late. (Nemal by si chodiť neskoro spať.)
Otázky s should: Should I study more? (Mal by som sa viac učiť?) Should we bring a present? (Mali by sme priniesť darček?)
Tip: Should je ako "bolo by dobré, keby..." - nie je to príkaz, ale múdra rada.
Praktické cvičenie
Teraz si vyskúšajme, ako tieto modálne slovesá používať v praxi. Pozri sa na tieto príklady a pochop logiku za nimi.
Can/Can't príklady: My sister can sing well - je v zbore, takže vie spievať. A fish can't walk, but it can swim - ryby jednoducho nechodia, ale plávajú skvelo.
Must/Mustn't príklady: You must wear a helmet when cycling - bezpečnosť je povinná. Students mustn't be late - meškanie je proti pravidlám.
Should/Shouldn't príklady: You should wear a warm jacket when it's cold - je to dobrá rada. You shouldn't eat too many sweets - nie je to zdravé.
Pamätaj si: Vždy po modálnom slovese ide základný tvar - can swim, must listen, should study!
Dôležité tipy a triky
Hlavné pravidlo, ktoré ti uľahčí život: Po can, must a should vždy ide základný tvar slovesa! Nikdy tam nedávaš "to" ani koncovky.
Správne: He can swim. You must listen. She should go. Chybne: He can to swim. You must listens. She should goes.
Rozdiel medzi mustn't a don't have to: Mustn't znamená "je to zakázané!" Don't have to znamená "nemusíš, ak nechceš". Pre šiestakov je dôležité vedieť, že mustn't je silný zákaz.
Ako si to zapamätať: Can = superhrdina (čo dokáže), Must = školské pravidlo (čo musí), Should = mamina rada (čo by mal).
Pre test si zapamätaj: Modálne slovesá sa nemenia podľa osoby a vždy po nich ide základný tvar slovesa!

Can/Can't: schopnosť a neschopnosť - I can play football, Birds can't talk.
