Kvantifikátory - úvod a základy
Kvantifikátory sú tvoji kamaráti, ktorí ti pomáhajú povedať, koľko niečoho máš. Bez nich by si nevedel vyjadriť, či chceš veľa, málo alebo len trochu čokoľvek.
Než sa pustíš do kvantifikátorov, musíš rozlíšiť dva typy podstatných mien. Počítateľné podstatné mená sú veci, ktoré vieš spočítať - apple/apples, student/students, book/books. Majú jednotné aj množné číslo.
Nepočítateľné podstatné mená nevieš spočítať ako jednotlivé kusy. Sú to tekutiny, materiály či abstraktné pojmy - water, sugar, information, money, advice. Pozor na money - aj keď sú to peniaze, v angličtine sa berú ako nepočítateľné!
Tip: Ak si nevieš spomenúť, či je slovo počítateľné, skús ho dať do množného čísla. Ak to znie divne (waters, informations), je nepočítateľné.
Much, many, a lot of
Keď chceš povedať, že máš veľa niečoho, tieto tri kvantifikátory sú tvoja voľba. Ale každý sa používa trochu inak.
Many používaš s počítateľnými menami v otázkach a záporoch: "Do you have many friends?" alebo "I don't have many books." Much je pre nepočítateľné mená, tiež v otázkach a záporoch: "Do you have much homework?" či "She doesn't drink much coffee."
A lot of (alebo lots of) je tvoja záchrana! Môžeš ho použiť s počítateľnými aj nepočítateľnými menami, hlavne v kladných vetách: "I have a lot of friends" alebo "We have lots of water."
Záchranný tip: Ak si neistý, či použiť much alebo many v kladnej vete, a lot of je skoro vždy správne riešenie.
Few, a few, little, a little
Tu si musíš dávať pozor na význam! Tieto kvantifikátory hovoria o malom množstve, ale môžu to myslieť pozitívne alebo negatívne.
Few a little majú negatívny význam - "málo, skoro nič". Few používaš s počítateľnými menami: "Few students passed the exam" (skoro nikto neprešiel). Little je pre nepočítateľné: "There is little hope" (skoro žiadna nádej).
A few a a little sú pozitívne - "pár, trochu, nejaké množstvo". A few s počítateľnými: "I have a few friends in my class" (mám nejakých priateľov). A little s nepočítateľnými: "Can I have a little sugar?" (chcem nejaký cukor).
Kľúč k pochopeniu: Rozdiel je v tom článku "a"! S ním je to pozitívne (dostatočné množstvo), bez neho negatívne (nedostatok).
Some a any
Tieto dva kvantifikátory používaš, keď hovoríš o nejakom množstve, ale nevieš presne koľko. Pravidlo je jednoduché, len si ho musíš zapamätať.
Some patří do kladných viet: "I have some money" alebo "There are some apples." Používa sa aj v otázkach, ale len keď niečo ponúkaš alebo o niečo žiadaš: "Would you like some tea?" či "Can I have some water?"
Any ide do záporných viet a väčšiny otázok. V záporoch: "I don't have any money" alebo "There aren't any apples." V otázkach: "Do you have any questions?" či "Is there any milk?"
Jednoduchá pomôcka: Some = kladné vety + ponuky/žiadosti. Any = záporné vety + bežné otázky.
Praktické príklady a riešenia
Pozrime si, ako to funguje v praxi. Pri každom príklade si najprv rozmysli, či je podstatné meno počítateľné alebo nepočítateľné a aký typ vety máš.
"There isn't _____ milk in the fridge." - Milk je nepočítateľné a veta je záporná, takže any. "I have _____ good friends, so I'm never lonely." - Friends sú počítateľné, veta kladná s pozitívnym významom, takže a few.
"How _____ money do you need?" - Money je nepočítateľné v otázke, takže much. "We saw _____ interesting animals at the zoo." - Animals sú počítateľné, kladná veta o veľkom množstve, takže a lot of.
Stratégia na test: Vždy si najprv urči typ podstatného mena, potom typ vety a až nakoniec vyber kvantifikátor.
Zhrnutie a tipy na test
Tu sú tie najdôležitejšie veci, ktoré potrebuješ vedieť. Many → počítateľné (otázky, zápory), Much → nepočítateľné (otázky, zápory), A lot of → počítateľné aj nepočítateľné (hlavne kladné vety).
Few/Little = negatívny význam ("málo, skoro nič"), A few/A little = pozitívny význam ("pár, trochu"). Some = kladné vety + ponuky/žiadosti, Any = záporné vety + väčšina otázok.
Najčastejšie chyby sú zámena much/many a nepochopenie rozdielu medzi few a a few. Pamätaj si, že a lot of je univerzálne riešenie pre "veľa" a funguje skoro vždy.
Záverečný tip: Trénuj rozlišovanie počítateľných a nepočítateľných mien - je to základ všetkého!

Kvantifikátory - úvod a základy
Kvantifikátory sú tvoji kamaráti, ktorí ti pomáhajú povedať, koľko niečoho máš. Bez nich by si nevedel vyjadriť, či chceš veľa, málo alebo len trochu čokoľvek.
Než sa pustíš do kvantifikátorov, musíš rozlíšiť dva typy podstatných mien. Počítateľné podstatné mená sú veci, ktoré vieš spočítať - apple/apples, student/students, book/books. Majú jednotné aj množné číslo.
