Základy - Some, Any, Much, Many, A lot of
Tieto slovíčka ti umožnia hovoriť o množstve rôznych vecí. Ale pozor - najskôr musíš rozlíšiť dva typy podstatných mien!
Počítateľné podstatné mená sú veci, ktoré vieš spočítať na prstoch: an apple (jedno jablko), two apples (dve jablká), a student (jeden študent), many students (veľa študentov).
Nepočítateľné podstatné mená sú veci, ktoré nevieš spočítať ako jednotlivé kusy: water (voda), sugar (cukor), milk (mlieko), money (peniaze). Nemajú množné číslo alebo ho používame inak.
Tip: Ak povieš "dve vody", myslíš tým vlastne "dve fľaše vody" - samotná voda zostáva nepočítateľná!
Some a Any - kedy ktoré použiť
Some znamená "niekoľko, nejaký, trochu" a používaš ho hlavne v kladných vetách. Funguje s počítateľnými aj nepočítateľnými podstatnými menami.
Príklady: I have some apples (Mám nejaké jablká), There is some milk in the fridge (V chladničke je trochu mlieka).
Some môžeš použiť aj v otázkach, ale len keď niečo ponúkaš alebo žiadaš: Would you like some tea? (Dal by si si čaj?)
Any znamená "žiadny, akýkoľvek" a používaš ho v záporných vetách a otázkách. Tiež funguje s oboma typmi podstatných mien.
Príklady: I don't have any brothers (Nemám žiadnych bratov), Do you have any questions? (Máš nejaké otázky?)
Pozor: V otázkach používaj any, keď nevieš, aká bude odpoveď!
Much a Many - rozdiel je v počítaní
Obe slová znamenajú "veľa", ale každé sa používa inak.
Many použiješ len s počítateľnými podstatnými menami (v množnom čísle). Najčastejšie v otázkach a záporných vetách: How many students are in your class? (Koľko študentov je vo vašej triede?), I don't have many friends (Nemám veľa priateľov).
Much použiješ len s nepočítateľnými podstatnými menami. Tiež hlavne v otázkach a záporných vetách: How much money do you have? (Koľko peňazí máš?), She doesn't drink much coffee (Nepije veľa kávy).
V kladných vetách sa much a many používajú menej často - radšej povieš I have a lot of friends namiesto I have many friends.
Trik: Ak si nie si istý, či je slovo počítateľné, skús si predstaviť, či ho vieš spočítať na prstoch!
A lot of - tvoj najlepší kamarát
A lot of (alebo lots of) je tvoje "bezpečné" slovíčko, lebo ho môžeš použiť s počítateľnými aj nepočítateľnými podstatnými menami. Znamená "veľa" a funguje vo všetkých typoch viet.
Kladné vety: I have a lot of books (Mám veľa kníh), She drinks a lot of water (Pije veľa vody).
Záporné vety: They don't have a lot of problems (Nemajú veľa problémov).
Otázky: Do you have a lot of homework? (Máš veľa domácich úloh?)
Lots of je o niečo neformálnejšie ako a lot of, ale význam je rovnaký. V kladných vetách, keď chceš povedať "veľa", je a lot of často najlepšia voľba.
Super tip: Ak váhaš medzi much a many, a veta je kladná, a lot of je skoro vždy správna odpoveď!

Pamätaj: Some v otázkach používaj len pri ponukách a žiadostiach, kde očakávaš kladnú odpoveď!
Rýchle zhrnutie pre skúšky
Some - kladné vety - počítateľné aj nepočítateľné
Any - záporné vety a bežné otázky - počítateľné aj nepočítateľné
Much - "veľa" s nepočítateľnými (hlavne zápor a otázky)
Many - "veľa" s počítateľnými (hlavne zápor a otázky)
A lot of - univerzálne "veľa" - všade a vždy (najmä kladné vety)
Zlaté pravidlá: A lot of je tvoj kamarát - funguje skoro vždy, keď chceš povedať "veľa". Much a many v kladných vetách znie neprirodzene, radšej použij a lot of.
Pre skúšku: Ak si nie si istý, či je slovo počítateľné alebo nepočítateľné, skús si predstaviť, či potrebuješ nejakú mieru (liter, kilo, kúsok) - ak áno, je nepočítateľné!

Počítateľné podstatné mená sú veci, ktoré vieš spočítať na prstoch: an apple (jedno jablko), two apples (dve jablká), a student (jeden študent), many students (veľa študentov).
Nepočítateľné podstatné mená sú veci, ktoré nevieš spočítať ako jednotlivé kusy: water (voda), sugar (cukor), milk (mlieko), money (peniaze). Nemajú množné číslo alebo ho používame inak.
