基本用語と三大都市圏
君の住む日本で最も重要な地域の一つが関東地方だよ。首都東京があって、日本の人口の約3分の1が集まっているんだ。
中部地方は日本のど真ん中にある地方で、地形や気候がとても複雑なのが特徴。だから東海地方（太平洋側で温暖）、中央高地（内陸の山地で気温差大）、北陸地方（日本海側で雪多し）の3つに分けて覚えよう。
三大都市圏のうち、東京大都市圏と名古屋大都市圏がこの2つの地方にあるんだ。これは絶対に覚えておきたいポイントだよ。

工業地帯と関東地方の特色
工場がたくさん集まった場所を工業地帯・工業地域って呼ぶんだ。京浜工業地帯（東京・川崎・横浜）は印刷や機械、中京工業地帯（愛知・三重・岐阜）は自動車で有名だよ。
関東地方には日本最大の平野である関東平野が広がっていて、利根川が流れている。人口集中のおかげで通勤ラッシュや住宅問題も起きているんだ。
農業では、東京などの大きな消費地に近いことを活かした近郊農業がさかん。千葉のねぎ、茨城のはくさい、群馬の高原キャベツ（抑制栽培）などが代表例だね。

東海地方と中央高地
東海地方は太平洋側にあるから黒潮の影響で温暖なんだ。静岡の牧之原台地での茶栽培（日本一！）、愛知の電照菊が有名だよ。
工業では中京工業地帯が日本最大の規模を誇るんだ。特に愛知県豊田市のトヨタ自動車を中心とした自動車産業は世界的にも有名。静岡のオートバイや楽器（東海工業地域）も覚えておこう。
中央高地は日本アルプス（飛騨・木曽・赤石山脈）に囲まれた山がちな地域。内陸性気候で気温差が大きく、降水量は少ないのが特徴だ。
盆地では果物栽培がさかんで、山梨のぶどう・もも、長野のりんご・レタスが代表的。きれいな水と空気を活かした精密機械工業（時計・カメラ）も長野県諏訪湖周辺で発達しているよ。
💡 覚え方のコツ！ 中京工業地帯のグラフ問題では「輸送用機械」の割合が約半分なら、ほぼ確実に中京だと判断できる！
北陸地方と資料読み取り
北陸地方は日本海側気候で、冬に北西の季節風が吹いて雪がとても多いんだ。この雪解け水が水力発電や農業に大活躍している。
越後平野（新潟県）は日本有数の米どころで、コシヒカリが特に有名だよ。豊富な電力と水を使ったアルミニウム工業も発達している。
伝統的工芸品も見逃せない。石川県の輪島塗（漆器）・九谷焼（陶磁器）、福井県の越前焼・鯖江のめがねフレームなど、地域の特色を活かした産業が根付いているんだ。
資料問題でよく出るのが降水量のグラフ。新潟が冬に降水量が多いのは、シベリアからの季節風が日本海で水分を含み、山脈にぶつかって雪を降らせるからだよ。
