光合成の基本
光合成って、植物が太陽の光を使って食べ物を作る魔法みたいな仕組みだよね。二酸化炭素と水から、デンプンなどの栄養分と酸素を作り出している。地球上のほとんどの生物がこの働きに依存してるから、生態系の土台って言われてるんだ。
葉緑体という植物細胞の中の小さな工場で、この作業が行われている。ここにはクロロフィル（葉緑素）という緑色の色素があって、これが光エネルギーをキャッチする役割を担ってる。
葉の裏側にある小さな穴、気孔も重要だ。ここから二酸化炭素を取り込んで、作られた酸素を外に出している。ATPというエネルギーの通貨を使って、光エネルギーを化学エネルギーに変換しながら、有機物を合成してるんだよ。
💡 覚えておこう！ 葉緑体は葉の表側の柵状組織に多く含まれていて、効率よく光を吸収できるようになっている。
光合成の材料と生成物
光合成を理解するには、何が必要で何ができるかをしっかり整理することが大切だ。材料として必要なのは、二酸化炭素（気孔から取り込み）、水（根から道管を通って運ばれる）、そして光エネルギー（主に太陽光）の3つ。
できあがるものは、有機物（デンプンやグルコース）と酸素だ。有機物は植物のエネルギー源や体を作る材料になる。デンプンとして一時的に葉に蓄えられた後、ショ糖に分解されて師管を通って全身に運ばれるんだ。
化学反応式は絶対覚えよう：6CO₂ + 12H₂O → C₆H₁₂O₆ + 6O₂ + 6H₂O
💡 テストのコツ！ 右辺にも水があるのがポイント。中学の簡単な式とは違うから要注意だよ。
光合成の実験
オオカナダモを使った実験で、光の強さが光合成にどう影響するかを調べることができる。炭酸水素ナトリウム水溶液にオオカナダモを入れて、光を当てると切り口から酸素の気泡が出てくる。
光源との距離を変えて気泡の数を数えると面白い結果が見える。10cmで30個、20cmで15個、30cmで7個といった感じで、光が強いほど気泡が多くなる。つまり、光の強さが強いほど光合成の速度が大きくなるってことだ。
ただし、ある程度以上強くなると頭打ちになる（光飽和点）。これは二酸化炭素濃度や温度などが限界になるからなんだ。
💡 実験のポイント！ 気泡の数を正確に数えることで、光合成の速度を測定できる。条件を変えて比較するのが実験の醍醐味だよ。
光合成と呼吸の違い
植物は光合成だけじゃなく、呼吸も常にしていることを忘れちゃダメ。光合成は光があるときだけ葉緑体で行われるけど、呼吸は昼も夜もミトコンドリアで行われてる。
光合成では二酸化炭素と水から有機物と酸素を作るけど、呼吸はその逆で有機物と酸素からエネルギー（ATP）を取り出す。昼間は両方同時に起こってるから、見かけの光合成速度として観察されるんだ。
エネルギーの流れも真逆だ。光合成では光エネルギーを化学エネルギーに変換して蓄え、呼吸では化学エネルギーを放出してATPを作る。
💡 混同注意！ 植物も生きてるから、昼も夜も呼吸してエネルギーを消費してる。光合成は光があるときのボーナス活動だと思おう。
光合成に影響する3つの要因
テストでよく出る重要なポイントがこの3つの要因だ。まず光の強さは、強いほど速度が上がるけど、やがて頭打ちになる。これが光飽和点だね。
二酸化炭素の濃度も同じで、高いほど速度は上がるけど、ある程度で限界が来る。植物も効率には限界があるってことだ。
温度については最適な温度がある。低すぎても高すぎても、酵素の働きが鈍るから速度は落ちちゃう。人間と同じで、植物にとっても快適な温度があるんだよ。
💡 グラフ問題対策！ これらの要因とグラフの関係は頻出問題。カーブを描いて頭打ちになるパターンを覚えておこう。
