波って聞くと海の波を思い浮かべるかもしれないけど、実は音や光も波の仲間なんだ。この単元では、波がどうやってエネルギーを運ぶのか、そして波を表すための基本的な量について学んでいこう。

波の性質の概要

波は、エネルギーをある場所から別の場所へ運ぶ現象。媒質そのものが移動する
わけではないのがポイント。例えば、海の波は水が上下に動くだけで、水自体が
岸まで移動してくるわけじゃない。音や光、地震の波もすべて波の一種。この単
元では、波を記述するため

波はエネルギーを運ぶ現象だけど、媒質（波を伝える物質）自体は移動しない。海の波を見ても、水は上下に動くだけで水自体が岸まで流れてくるわけじゃないよね。

波源は波を作り出すもので、媒質は波を伝える物質のこと。音なら空気、水の波なら水が媒質になる。ただし光や電波は特別で、真空中でも伝わることができるんだ。

波を理解するための基本的な量がいくつかある。変位は媒質がつりあいの位置からどれだけずれているかを表し、**振幅（A）**はその最大値のこと。**波長（λ）**は波一つ分の長さで、山から隣の山までの距離で測るよ。

💡 覚えておこう: 波長の記号λ（ラムダ）はギリシャ文字。物理でよく使われるから慣れておこう！

周期・振動数と波の種類

**周期（T）**は1回振動するのにかかる時間で、**振動数（f）**は1秒間に何回振動するかを表す。この2つは逆数の関係にあって、f = 1/Tという式で結ばれている。

波は媒質の振動方向によって2種類に分けられる。横波は振動方向と進行方向が垂直な波で、光や弦の振動がこれにあたる。山と谷がはっきり見える波形だ。

縦波は振動方向と進行方向が平行な波。音やばねの振動がその例で、密な部分と疎な部分が交互に現れる。見た目は横波ほどわかりやすくないけど、原理は同じだよ。

波の基本式と重要公式

物理で最も重要な公式の一つがv = fλだ。波の速さ（v）は振動数（f）と波長（λ）の積で表される。これは波が1周期で1波長分進むという性質から導かれる。

単位も確認しておこう。速さは $m/s$ 、振動数は[Hz]、波長は[m]。計算するときは必ず単位もチェックすると間違いを防げる。

この公式を使えば、3つの量のうち2つがわかれば残り1つを求めることができる。例えば、振動数50Hz、波長2.0mの波なら、速さは50 × 2.0 = 100 m/sになる。

計算例と実践問題

実際の問題を解いてみよう。音の速さが340m/s、振動数が170Hzのとき、波長を求める問題なら、v = fλをλについて変形してλ = v/f = 340/170 = 2.0mとなる。

正弦波の式y = A sin(2πft)が与えられた問題では、係数を比較して振幅や振動数を読み取る。例えばy = 0.10 sin(2.0πt)なら、振幅A = 0.10m、2πf = 2.0πからf = 1.0Hzと求められる。

周期は振動数の逆数だから T = 1/f = 1.0s。波の速さがわかっていれば、v = fλから波長も計算できるね。

💡 注意ポイント: 正弦波の式では、係数を正確に読み取ることが大切。2πが含まれているかどうかをしっかりチェック！

試験対策と重要ポイント

グラフ問題では横軸が何かを必ず確認しよう。横軸が位置xなら波形グラフで波長λが読み取れる。横軸が時間tなら単振動グラフで周期Tがわかる。

媒質の動きと波の動きを混同しないのも大切。媒質はその場で振動するだけで、波と一緒に移動するわけではない。これは波の本質的な性質だよ。

公式は単位も含めて覚える。v = fλで、v $m/s$ = f[Hz] × λ[m]。Hz は 1/s と同じ意味で、計算すると確かに $m/s$ になることがわかる。
