不定詞と動名詞の基本
不定詞（to + 動詞の原形）と動名詞（動詞の-ing形）は、どちらも「〜すること」という意味で名詞の働きをするよ。主語や目的語、補語になれるんだ。
主語や補語として使うときは、どちらを使っても意味はほぼ同じ。でも動詞の目的語になるときは要注意！動詞によってルールが決まってるから、これがテストのポイントになる。
覚えておこう！ 不定詞は「to + 動詞の原形」、動名詞は「動詞 + ing」の形だよ。
例えば「To get up early is good」も「Getting up early is good」も同じ意味だけど、「I want to visit Kyoto」は「I want visiting Kyoto」とは言えないんだ。
動名詞だけをとる動詞
過去のことや習慣、やめることを表す動詞は動名詞しか取れない。これらの動詞を覚えよう！
主要な動詞：enjoy（楽しむ）、finish（終える）、stop（やめる）、mind（気にする）、give up（あきらめる）、practice（練習する）、avoid（避ける）
例文で確認すると、「My brother enjoys playing video games」「I finished doing my homework」みたいに使うよ。これらの動詞の後ろにto不定詞を置くのは間違いだから注意して。
テストのコツ 動名詞グループは「メガフェプス（megafeps）」みたいな語呂合わせで覚えるのもアリ！
特にstopは要注意。「stop eating」（食べるのをやめる）という意味になるけど、「stop to eat」だと意味が変わっちゃうから後で詳しく説明するね。

未来のことや意志を表す動詞は不定詞しか取れない。want（したい）、hope（望む）、decide（決める）、plan（計画する）、promise（約束する）が代表的だよ。
例：「I want to be a doctor」「She decided to study abroad」のように、これから起こることについて話すときに使うんだ。
でも一番難しいのが、両方取れるけど意味が変わる動詞！remember、forget、try、stopがこのグループ。
超重要ポイント 過去のことなら-ing、これからのことならto doで覚えよう！
例えばrememberは「I remember meeting him」（彼に会ったことを覚えている＝過去）と「Please remember to post this letter」（手紙を投函することを忘れずに＝未来）で全然意味が違うよ。
特に注意すべき動詞の使い分け
tryとstopの使い分けは超重要だから、しっかり理解しておこう！
try + 動名詞は「試しに〜してみる」、try + 不定詞は「努力して〜しようとする」という意味。「I tried using this app」（このアプリを試しに使ってみた）と「He tried to open the door」（ドアを開けようと努力した）では全然違うよね。
stopの使い分けも要チェック！「He stopped smoking」は「タバコをやめた」だけど、「He stopped to smoke」は「タバコを吸うために立ち止まった」という意味になる。
ひっかけ注意！ 「stop to do」のtoは目的を表す副詞的用法で、stopの目的語じゃないよ！
forgetも同様で、「forget doing」は過去のことを忘れる、「forget to do」は未来にすることを忘れるという違いがあるんだ。
テスト対策の重要ポイント
まず動詞のリスト暗記が基本！動名詞グループ（enjoy, finish, mind...）と不定詞グループ（want, hope, decide...）を覚えよう。
前置詞の後ろは必ず動名詞っていうのも超重要ルール！「look forward to seeing」「thank you for helping」のように、前置詞の後に動詞が来たら必ず-ing形になる。
特に「look forward to」のtoは前置詞だから、後ろは動詞の原形じゃなくて動名詞。これはテストのひっかけ問題でよく出るから要注意だよ。
合格への近道 意味が変わる動詞（remember, try, stop, forget）は例文ごと丸暗記がおすすめ！
練習問題をたくさん解いて、どの動詞がどの形を取るか体で覚えることが大切。パターンを覚えれば、テストでも迷わずに答えられるようになるよ！
