日本の地域区分と基本用語
日本は8つの地方（北海道、東北、関東、中部、近畿、中国、四国、九州・沖縄）に分けられる。それぞれが全然ちがう特色を持っているんだ。
気候っていうのは、その土地の1年を通した平均的な天気のこと。北海道の「冷帯」と沖縄の「亜熱帯」みたいに、気温や降水量で決まる。
地形は土地の形やつくりで、関東平野のような広い平野や日本アルプスのような高い山地がある。この地形と気候が組み合わさって、その土地ならではの産業（農業、工業、観光業など）が発達するんだ。
💡 覚えるコツ: 気候→地形→産業→くらしの順番で考えると、なぜその地方がその特色を持つのかがわかりやすい！
北海道・東北・関東地方
北海道は冷帯気候で冬がとても寒い。だから広い土地を活かした畑作と酪農がさかん。じゃがいも、とうもろこし、牛乳が有名で、雪対策として家の窓を二重にする工夫がある。
東北地方は米どころとして有名！庄内平野や仙台平野で米作りがさかん。でも太平洋側では夏に「やませ」という冷たい風で米が育ちにくくなることがある。りんごやさくらんぼなどの果物も作られている。
関東地方には日本最大の関東平野があり、首都・東京がある。政治、経済、文化の中心地で、大都市に近いことを活かした近郊農業（野菜作り）もさかん。
💡 テストのポイント: 東北地方は日本海側が雪多い、太平洋側が「やませ」で冷害。この違いをしっかり覚えよう！
中部・近畿・中国四国地方
中部地方は複雑な地形が特色。日本アルプスがあり、中京工業地帯では自動車産業がとてもさかん。静岡県のお茶や、中央高地のレタスなど、場所によって作物が全然ちがう。
近畿地方は大阪が「天下の台所」と呼ばれる商業の中心地。京都や奈良には歴史的なお寺や神社がたくさんあって、観光業が発達している。
中国・四国地方では、瀬戸内海を中心とした地域が重要。温暖で雨が少ない気候を活かして、みかんやレモンなどのかんきつ類の栽培がさかん。瀬戸内工業地域もある。

九州・沖縄地方と地域比較のコツ
九州・沖縄地方は一年中温暖で、特に沖縄は亜熱帯気候。この暖かさを活かして米の二期作や野菜の促成栽培が行われている。沖縄では観光業が中心で、台風対策として家を石垣で囲む工夫がある。
地域を比較するときは、まず気候の特色を思い出そう。次に、その気候が家のつくりや産業、食べ物にどう影響しているかを考える。最後に2つの地域の違いを文章でまとめればOK！
