金属のイオン化傾向の基本
君のスマホの電池がなぜ電気を作れるのか、その秘密がイオン化傾向にある。これは金属が水溶液中で電子を失って陽イオンになろうとする性質の強さのことだ。
イオン化傾向が大きいほど、その金属は酸化されやすい（電子を失いやすい）。つまり、反応しやすいってこと。電池や金属の腐食を理解するには絶対に必要な知識だから、しっかり押さえよう。
金属のイオン化列は絶対暗記が必要。覚え方は「貸そう（K）か（Ca）な（Na）、ま（Mg）あ（Al）あ（Zn）て（Fe）に（Ni）すん（Sn）な（Pb）、ひ（H）ど（Cu）す（Hg）ぎる（Ag）借金（Pt）（Au）」。この順番で反応性が高い順に並んでいる。
💡 覚えるコツ: イオン化傾向が大きい金属ほど、自分は酸化されやすく、相手を還元しやすい（還元力が強い）んだ！
イオン化列と金属の反応性
イオン化列の位置によって、金属がどんな反応をするかが決まる。K、Ca、Naのような上位の金属は常温の水とも激しく反応するほど活発だ。
水との反応では、K〜Naは常温の水と反応して水素ガスを発生させる。MgやAl、Zn、Feになると高温でないと水と反応しない。例えば、Na + H₂O → NaOH + H₂↑みたいな感じ。
酸との反応が特に重要。Hより上にある金属（K〜Pb）は希塩酸や希硫酸と反応して水素ガスを出す。でもCuより下の金属は希酸とは反応しない。
💡 要注意: Al、Fe、Niは濃硝酸に対して不動態という保護膜を作るから溶けない。これはテストの超頻出ポイント！
ただし、硝酸や熱濃硫酸のような酸化力のある酸は特別。Cuより下の金属とも反応するし、発生するのは水素じゃなくてNOやNO₂、SO₂といった別の気体だ。
金属イオンの置換とダニエル電池
イオン化傾向の大きい金属は、小さい金属のイオンを水溶液から追い出すことができる。これが金属イオンの置換だ。
例えば、硫酸銅水溶液に亜鉛板を入れると、Zn > Cuだから亜鉛が溶けて銅が析出する。反応式は Zn + CuSO₄ → ZnSO₄ + Cu。亜鉛板に赤褐色の銅がくっつくのが見えるはず。
ダニエル電池は、このイオン化傾向の差を利用した代表的な電池。負極に亜鉛、正極に銅を使う。Znの方がイオン化傾向が大きいから、負極で酸化反応（Zn → Zn²⁺ + 2e⁻）が起こる。
💡 電池の覚え方: 「フ（負極）サ（酸化）」「セ（正極）カ（還元）」で覚えよう！
正極では銅イオンが還元されて銅になる（Cu²⁺ + 2e⁻ → Cu）。この電子の移動が電流を生み出すんだ。
金属の腐食と防止方法
鉄がさびるのも、実は局部電池が形成される電気化学的な反応なんだ。水と酸素がある環境で、鉄の表面に小さな電池ができてしまう。
鉄のさびでは、まず鉄が酸化されて Fe → Fe²⁺ + 2e⁻ の反応が起こる。放出された電子は酸素を還元して O₂ + 2H₂O + 4e⁻ → 4OH⁻ になる。最終的に赤さび（Fe₂O₃・nH₂O）ができあがる。
腐食の防止には、イオン化傾向の違いを利用する。トタンは鉄を亜鉛でめっきしたもので、Zn > Feだから傷がついても亜鉛が先に溶けて鉄を守ってくれる（犠牲陽極）。
💡 トタンとブリキの違い: ブリキ（鉄をスズでめっき）は Fe > Sn だから、傷がつくと鉄が先に溶け出してしまう。缶詰の内側に使われるのはそのためだよ。
これらの現象は全て、金属のイオン化傾向の違いで説明できるから、イオン化列をしっかり覚えておこう。
