Want to make a great first impression in Spanish? Start with simple greetings like "¡Hola!" (Hello!) and "¿Qué tal?" (How are you?). You can respond with "Bien, gracias" (Fine, thanks) or get more expressive with "fenomenal" (great) or "fatal" (awful).
When someone asks "¿Cómo te llamas?" (What are you called?), simply reply "Me llamo..." followed by your name. To ask where someone lives, use "¿Dónde vives?" and respond with "Vivo en..." plus your location.
Describing your personality is brilliant for making friends! Use "Soy..." (I am...) with words like "divertido/a" (amusing), "simpático/a" (nice), or "tímido/a" (shy). Remember that adjectives ending in -o change to -a for girls.
Top tip: The phrase "Mi pasión es..." (My passion is...) works perfectly for talking about hobbies like "el fútbol" (football) or "la música" (music).

Talking about your family in Spanish is straightforward once you know the basics. "¿Tienes hermanos?" means "Do you have any brothers or sisters?" You can answer with "Tengo una hermana" (I have a sister) or "Tengo un hermano" (I have a brother).
If your family's a bit more complicated, try "una hermanastra" (stepsister) or "un hermanastro" (stepbrother). No siblings? Simply say "No tengo hermanos" or "Soy hijo único" or "Soy hija única" (if you're female).
Numbers from 1-31 are essential for ages and dates. The tricky ones are 11-15: once, doce, trece, catorce, quince. From 16-19, they're combined: dieciséis, diecisiete, dieciocho, diecinueve. After 20, it's easy: veintiuno (21), veintidós (22), and so on.
Remember: Learning numbers up to 31 means you can say any day of the month - perfect for birthdays and important dates!

"¿Cuántos años tienes?" (How old are you?) is probably one of the first questions you'll hear. Answer with "Tengo... años" - for example, "Tengo catorce años" (I'm 14 years old).
Birthday conversations use "¿Cuándo es tu cumpleaños?" (When is your birthday?). Reply with "Mi cumpleaños es el..." followed by the date and month. You'll need to memorise the months: enero (January), febrero (February), marzo (March), and so on through to diciembre (December).
Pets are brilliant conversation starters! "¿Tienes mascotas?" means "Do you have pets?" You might have "un perro" (dog), "un gato" (cat), "un conejo" (rabbit), or even "una serpiente" (snake). No pets? Just say "No tengo mascotas."
Describing your pets with colours makes conversations more interesting. Use "blanco/a" (white), "negro/a" (black), "marrón" (brown), or "gris" (grey) to paint a picture with words.
Quick trick: Use "¿Cómo es?" (What is it like?) for one pet or "¿Cómo son?" (What are they like?) for multiple pets.

These high-frequency words are absolute game-changers for your Spanish conversations. They'll help you sound more natural and connect your ideas smoothly.
"Muy" (very) and "bastante" (quite) help you add emphasis - "muy simpático" means "very nice" whilst "bastante tímido" means "quite shy". "Un poco" (a bit) is perfect when you want to tone things down.
Connecting words like "y" (and), "pero" (but), and "también" will make your sentences flow brilliantly. Don't forget "no" for negative statements and the possessive words "mi/mis" (my) and "tu/tus" (your).
Pro tip: These small words might seem boring, but they're the glue that holds your Spanish sentences together - master these and you'll sound much more fluent!

I didn’t even know about this app three days until the exam and it has helped A LOT. Please actually trust me and use it as I’m sure you too will see developments.
