You'll definitely need to master these 25 common Spanish verbs in three key tenses for your exams. The good news? Once you learn the patterns, it becomes much easier!
Past tense verbs like escuché (I listened) and comí (I ate) follow regular patterns, though watch out for irregular verbs marked with asterisks like tuve (I had) and fui (I went). These don't follow the normal rules, so they need extra practice.
Present tense is your bread and butter - verbs like escucho (I listen) and como (I eat) are what you'll use most in conversation. Future tense uses the handy voy a + infinitive pattern, so voy a comer means "I am going to eat."
Top Tip Focus on the irregular verbs first - they appear everywhere in Spanish and knowing them will boost your confidence massively.
