Alternating current sent through a wire attached to base of paper cone. Coil surrounds 1 pole of permanent magnetic and is surrounded by the other pole. Current causes forever on coil so come moves. The current reverses, forces are in the opposite direction. The cone vibrates due to the variation in current. This creates variation in pressure, causing sound waves. Direction of motor can be reversed by swapping polarity of the DC supply so the current is reversed or swapping magnetic poles over (reversing magnetic fields)
