Essential GCSE Maths Topics You Must Master

Number skills form the foundation of everything else in maths. You'll need to be rock solid with fractions, standard form, and percentages - including tricky bits like percentage change and reverse percentages. Prime factor decomposition might sound scary, but it's just breaking numbers down into their basic building blocks.

Algebra is where things get interesting, and honestly, once you crack it, it's quite satisfying! Start with collecting like terms and expanding brackets, then move on to solving equations and changing the subject. Don't worry if factorising quadratics seems tough at first - it's like learning to ride a bike, suddenly it just clicks.

The more advanced algebra topics include sequences (especially quadratic ones), simultaneous equations, and coordinate geometry. Remember that y = mx + c formula - it's your best mate for straight-line graphs. Indices and iteration might seem abstract, but they're actually really useful problem-solving tools.
