While: Tiempo y Contraste
While es súper útil para conectar dos acciones que pasan al mismo tiempo. Piénsalo como el "mientras" en español - une actividades simultáneas donde una suele ser el trasfondo de la otra.
Tiene dos usos principales: mostrar tiempo simultáneo ("While he was talking, he was holding his baby") y contraste ("While some fathers feel awkward, he doesn't"). En el primer caso, las dos acciones ocurren juntas; en el segundo, while significa "aunque" o "mientras que".
La clave está en que after while normalmente usas verbos que expresan duración - acciones que se prolongan en el tiempo, no momentos puntuales.
💡 Truco: Si puedes reemplazar "while" por "when" sin cambiar el sentido, estás hablando de tiempo. Si suena mejor "although", es contraste.

Go on merece atención especial porque es muy común pero confuso. Con infinitivo expresa cambio de actividad: "After winning the Cup, Valencia went on to win the Champions League" (pasaron a ganar otra cosa diferente).
Con gerundio significa continuar la misma actividad: "They went on complaining all evening" . Esta diferencia es clave para sonar natural en inglés.
La lógica es simple: infinitivo = nueva actividad, gerundio = misma actividad continúa.
