# How do I activate Pro through my bank?

> If your bank offers Knowunity Pro, open your bank's Knowunity page, sign in or create a free account and enter the code from your bank. Pro activates without a payment.

Some banks give their customers Knowunity Pro at no cost. You activate it on the Knowunity website with a code from your bank. You do not pay Knowunity and you do not need payment details.

## Before you start

You need:

- the link to your bank's Knowunity page. Your bank gives you this.
- the code from your bank. Some banks send a personal code. Others share one access code with all their customers.

## Activate Pro

1. Open your bank's Knowunity page on a computer or phone.
2. Create a free account with **Need an account? Sign up**, or tap **Already have an account? Sign in**.
3. Enter your code exactly as printed, including capital letters.
4. If your bank uses a shared access code, also enter the account holder's details. Type the first 2 characters of the first name, the first 2 characters of the surname and the last 4 digits of the IBAN. Never enter your full IBAN or your online banking password.
5. Tap **Unlock Pro**.

When you see **Pro unlocked!**, tap **Open in the app** or **Start learning**. Pro is now active on your account.

## It did not work

- **We couldn't activate this code.** Check the code and type it again exactly as printed.
- **This access code is unavailable.** Check the code with your bank.
- **Too many attempts. Please try again in an hour.** Wait an hour and try again.
- **This access code has already been used on your Knowunity account.** Your account already has this offer.
- **Activation could not be completed.** If you already have Pro, you cannot activate it again. Otherwise try again later.

On the bank's page, tap **Report a bank partner issue** if you are still stuck. You can also use the [support form](https://knowunity.com/support). Include the name of your bank and the message you see. Never send your full IBAN.
