# How do streaks work?

> Your streak grows for every day you open and use Knowunity. Weekends and school holidays do not break it. A missed school day resets it.

## Keeping your streak

Open Knowunity and study on a school day and your streak goes up by one. You can see it on your profile and on the home screen.

## Weekends and holidays

- **Weekends are off.** Saturday and Sunday do not count against you as long as you come back on Monday.
- **School holidays** in your region, including the summer break, pause your streak as well.

## Streak freezes

When freezes are available in your app, they protect your streak on a day you miss. The number of freezes is shown next to your streak.

## I lost my streak

If you miss a school day without a freeze, the streak starts again at one. Streaks are a motivation tool, so support cannot restore a lost streak.

## My streak did not count today

- Make sure the app had an internet connection when you opened it.
- Restart the app and check again.
- If the streak counter is clearly wrong, for example it keeps a streak after weeks of not studying, report it through the [support form](https://knowunity.com/support) under *Technical problem* with a screenshot.
